Why our conferences are different

We have been analyzing content technologies since the early 80s when we began advising all members of the content technology community on what content technology was, how it could be used for enterprise business applications, and how content and computing would evolve.

Because we are strictly neutral with regard to vendors, analysts, enterprises, and consultants, we have been able to maintain a constant dialog with each group, all of whom are our customers, and all of whom we have learned from. Our conference content is carefully designed by our team of consultants and analysts to ensure the focus is on what you need to know to successfully plan and implement content technology solutions. Conference content is not based on the latest buzzword, specific product releases, the need to sell analyst reports, or a need to supplement an exhibit floor.

Our conferences are designed to foster interaction between all stakeholders in the content technology community, with the ultimate goal of increasing the successful implementation and deployment of content technology.

Speaker proposals & guidelines

Attendee quotes:

"What a fantastic conference and wonderful learning experience." said Charles Giaquinto, Equity Research Analyst, Henley & Company LLC.

"I attended last years conference in San Francisco. I found it very worthwhile and appreciated the focus on content management practices/experiences rather than vendor-specific solutions. Too often conferences can end up being infomercials - it was refreshing that this conference was not geared that way." said Brad Raasch, IT Team Leader, Global Computing Services, Deere & Company. "I also appreciated the openness of the other attendees; there was a lot of great discussion going on outside of the sessions."

"The level of sophistication of the Gilbane audience was impressive. I found the attendees, speakers, and vendors to be exceptionally knowledgeable in real-world application of content technologies," said Larry Bouthillier, Director of Educational Technologies and Multimedia Development, Harvard Business School. "In addition, the conference organization was among the best I've encountered."

“The Gilbane Conference on Content Management provided a unique opportunity to explore the challenges other companies face in regards to copy management and the solutions they are exploring and implementing,” said Maura Ardis, Product Knowledge and Content Manager, Staples. “Many of the presenters shared valuable information on how companies of all sizes and types can take advantage of content management to provide high-quality, accurate, consistent copy to customers, salespeople, customer service representatives, marketing groups, etc. in a timely fashion. As the amount of content that businesses use continues to grow at a wild rate, more and more companies will have to examine how they manage content and begin implementing many of the strategies discussed at the conference.”

"I truly obtained valuable information from the conference and it was great to be totally immersed in the subject matter with other content management professionals dealing with the same challenges as myself,” said Susan Wilder, Content Automation Manager, BB&T.

"The Gilbane conference in LA has provided me with crucial information that I was looking for as my company rolls out its content management solution. I have been able to network with industry experts, the major content management technology players and other companies, like mine, that are faced with the challenge of effectively managing content," said Angie Khumdee, Senior Software Engineer, Motorola CGISS E-Business.

"[The Gilbane Conference in LA] was one of the best organized conferences that I have ever attended and everyone was very helpful. Best of all was the information provided by some very knowledgeable individuals in the presentations and case studies. Furthermore, discussions with some of the attendees, was also very helpful for me." William J. Hellrung, CIJA,CGFM, COM. The Aerospace Corp.

"The caliber of speakers and the sessions was impressive. We are just embarking on this venture so it was an excellent opportunity to learn from the best in the field." Diane Laverty, BSc, Sr. Technical Writer, Invidi Technologies
