MACH Alliance launches to promote “best-of-breed” solutions for digital experience

Commercetools, Contentstack, EPAM Systems and Valtech launched the MACH Alliance, a group of independent, tech companies dedicated to advocating for open technology ecosystems. The Alliance is rooted in the common belief that the interoperability and open architecture of modern software will propel current and future digital experiences. Algolia, Amplience, Cloudinary, Constructor.io, Contentful, E2X, Fluent commerce, Frontastic, Mobify and Vue Storefront have joined as inaugural members, and the Alliance invites like-minded companies to do the same.

The “MACH” namesake, which stands for Microservices based, API-first, Cloud-native SaaS and Headless, is inspired by the supersonic speed at which software ecosystems can better serve enterprises. The MACH Alliance is committed to helping enterprises adopt and adapt agile systems, processes and skills to turn their digital practices into business differentiators. The MACH Alliance will ensure the “best-of-breed” alternative is clear, visible and omni-present, by:

  • Sharing technical knowledge about MACH, and why and when it is better than what a suite can offer.
  • Creating best practices that show organizations how to transition to a MACH architecture.
  • Publishing technical documentation, such as architectural blueprints and other technical content, demonstrating how to integrate MACH technologies.
  • Developing and hosting MACH Alliance events and serving as a collective resource at industry events to demonstrate and educate the industry on the benefits of adopting an open, cloud-native, API first headless architecture technology ecosystem.

One of the Alliance’s top priorities is to expand its footprint by welcoming like-minded independent technology and services companies to be a part of this open ecosystem technology collaboration.

Adobe Sensei Product Recommendations integrate with Magento Page Builder

Adobe announced Product Recommendations for Magento Commerce has been integrated with Magento’s content creation tool, Page Builder, extending the embedded Magento Admin experience to streamline workflows. Magento merchants can now drag and drop Sensei-powered recommendation units on any position within content that’s being authored in Page Builder.

Adobe released Product Recommendations powered by Adobe Sensei, their AI and machine learning technology, to Magento Commerce customers globally in April. This feature allows merchants to deploy automated and intelligent recommendations across storefronts to help their customers discover new, relevant products throughout their shopping journey. Adobe plans additional Product Recommendations capabilities to bridge the gap between intelligent merchandizing and content management.

Key benefits of the Page Builder integration include:

  • Drag and drop functionality makes it simple to place product recommendations in any position within the content being edited via Page Builder.
  • Merchants can now easily add recommendation units to multiple content types including pages, blocks, dynamic blocks and individual fields.
    • Merchants can now target recommendations to specific customers by assigning dynamic blocks to various consumer segments.
    • With Page Builder, merchants can deploy specific recommendations to individual product pages instead of across all product pages.
    • Merchants can customize recommendation units within Page Builder to match their brand, including adding borders, colors, and custom headings.

Magento Commerce merchants that have implemented Product Recommendations can take advantage of the Page Builder integration today by updating their modules. Product Recommendations is exclusively available for Magento Commerce merchants.

Box announces new capabilities in Box Relay

Box, Inc. announced improvements to its workflow engine, Box Relay, to automate and accelerate processes around content. The new Relay capabilities include a new library of pre-built templates to make it easier for end users to create workflows without IT support; additionally, Box introduced an integration with File Request and the addition of multi-file support. Box Relay automates everyday processes like digital asset reviews, work order submission approvals, regulatory reporting approvals, and grant reviews. Rolled out in June 2019, Box Relay includes all the benefits of the Box Cloud Content Management platform, including advanced security and compliance, Box Platform APIs, pre-built productivity integrations, and collaboration features.

There are now pre-built templates in Box Relay for common workflows in every department including sales, marketing, HR, legal, finance. A welcome page allows users to create a new workflow or select from a library of Box-published modifiable templates, which comprises 24 common line-of business use cases. Users can modify workflow steps, add pointers to related content, quickly include the right collaborators and task assignees, and kick off the workflow. The integration of File Request into Box Relay streamlines workflows, from content submission to automated downstream processes. File Request, released in May, provides customers with a secure way to get files and metadata from external partners and vendors. With this integration, there is now an automated handoff between File Request and Box Relay workflows. Box also announced the addition of multi-file support for Box Relay workflows, which enables users to package multiple pieces of content together to move in lockstep through a workflow as one entity, including assigning a single task for review and approval. Multi-file support simplifies document handling for business processes that involve multiple files such as product launches, vendor applications, and expense reports.

The new features are included in Box Relay at no additional charge. Multi-file support for Manual Start workflows are expected to be generally available at the end of June. The new library of templates and File Request integration are expected to be generally available at the end of July.
