Fivetran adds support for Microsoft’s Intelligent Data Platform

Fivetran announced an extended partnership and new product capabilities with Microsoft Azure to help joint customers accelerate their data-driven digital transformations. The partnership between Fivetran and Microsoft Azure includes support for the Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform, in addition to integrations with Azure Synapse and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) products, to help deliver a more seamless solution for automated data movement in the enterprise. 

The Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform is a set of comprehensive, integrated Azure data and analytics services that help reduce friction in data flows across enterprise data. Fivetran supports the Intelligent Data Platform by integrating with Azure Synapse and providing reliable, high-quality data movement across the ecosystem. As a result, Fivetran and Microsoft joint customers can accelerate value creation from their data assets. Fivetran plans to add an integration supporting data replication with its high-volume agent (HVA) connectors to ADLS Gen2 as a destination.  

The integration enables Microsoft customers to take advantage of the scale, automation and performance of a modern data stack with Fivetran and Microsoft Azure. With data consolidation and transformation workloads occurring in the Azure cloud, Fivetran customers will benefit from more comprehensive analytics and insights using additional Azure data services.

AvePoint partners with Microsoft to launch Microsoft Syntex

AvePoint announced it is one of the featured partners for the launch of Microsoft Syntex, which uses advancements in cloud computing and artificial intelligence to transform how content is created, processed and discovered in Microsoft 365. Microsoft Syntex is adding new capabilities to use advanced AI and machine teaching to amplify human expertise, automate content processing and transform content into knowledge.

  • Backup and Restore: Microsoft Syntex now offers the ability to backup and restore SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and OneDrive. When combined with AvePoint’s data protection solutions for Microsoft 365, organizations can have a backup solution that enables them to own their service level agreements, protect data, and maintain flexibility in where data is stored.
  • Information Management: Enables organizations to archive entire site collections within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, allowing organizations to index the content for eDiscovery and compliance. When combined with AvePoint’s information lifecycle management solution across Microsoft 365, this enhancement provides organizations with control of their records from creation and classification to retention and disposal in a single platform.
  • Content Management: Microsoft Syntex gives IT administrators visibility into sharing links and sensitive files in SharePoint sites, with the ability to then initiate reviews by those responsible.

MongoDB announces pay-as-you-go offering on Azure

MongoDB, Inc. announced that it will make it easier for developers to build data rich applications with a pay as you go experience of MongoDB Atlas within the Azure Marketplace & Portal. By engaging MongoDB Atlas through the Azure Marketplace, developers can access a free trial along with streamlined billing and procurement using their Azure accounts to pay for their Atlas usage.

MongoDB is among the initial set of partners participating in the launch of Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform Partner Ecosystem, which was announced at Ignite 2022. This integration provides developers with the ability to work with the platform of their choice to build on while also meeting the stringent requirements of Corp IT without impacting the speed of innovation. Microsoft customers leveraging MongoDB Atlas can take advantage of:

  • Ecosystem integrations including Synapse, Power BI, Purview, PowerApps, and PowerAutomate to add MongoDB Atlas to existing AI / ML / IoT / and Analytic architectures.
  • Security features such as always-on authentication, network isolation, end-to-end encryption, and role-based access controls to protect data.
  • Build full-text search, run real-time analytics, share visualizations, and sync to the edge with integrated and native Atlas data services that require no manual data replication or additional infrastructure.

Crownpeak acquires ilumino

Crownpeak, provider of a digital experience platform (DXP), announced the acquisition of ilumino, a digital accessibility services and consulting firm. The acquisition reinforces an existing two-year partnership with ilumino, expanding Crownpeak’s automated accessibility scanning technology with ilumino’s subject matter expertise in digital accessibility and usability. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

More than one billion people worldwide live with some form of visual, auditory, mobility, or cognitive disability, and many organizations are recognizing the need to deliver digital experiences that are inclusive of all users. The Crownpeak/ilumino partnership already serves business services, insurance, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) leaders operating in multiple countries.

Confluent launches Stream Governance Advanced

Confluent, Inc., a data streaming provider, announced a new capabilities for Stream Governance, a managed governance suite for Apache Kafka and data in motion. With Stream Governance Advanced, organizations can resolve issues within complex pipelines easier with point-in-time lineage, discover and understand topics faster with business metadata, and enforce quality controls globally with Schema Registry.   • Point-in-time playbacks for Stream Lineage: Troubleshooting complex data streams is now faster with the ability to understand where, when, and how data streams have changed over time. Point-in-time lineage provides a look back into a data stream’s history.

Grammarly announces general availability of its Text Editor SDK

Grammarly announced the general availability of the Grammarly Text Editor SDK (software development kit). The first offering from Grammarly for Developers, the Text Editor SDK enables integration of Grammarly’s AI communication assistance into any web or desktop application. The SDK makes it easy to integrate Grammarly’s writing suggestions so end users feel confident in their communication. The release also includes new feature such as Tone detector, Autocomplete, Analytics dashboard, and Theming.

Grammarly for Developers offers an openly accessible, self-serve free plan, or developers can request access to two usage-based paid plans:

  • Free: Delivers unlimited grammar, punctuation, and spelling suggestions
  • Starter: Everything in Free plus the option to remove user prompts encouraging registration with their own Grammarly account
  • Plus: Everything in Starter plus Grammarly’s advanced features, including autocomplete, clarity-focused rewrites, and feedback on tone, engaging word choice, and inclusive language.

The Text Editor SDK includes everything developers need to get started and handles the entire experience, including displaying underlines and suggestion cards, applying text transformations, and managing all communication between applications and Grammarly’s cloud services. The SDK supports a full range of English-language dialects and is available for JavaScript, React, Vue, and applications powered by Electron.

Veryfi offers free platform to transform documents into structured data

Veryfi launched a Free tier for its optical character recognition (OCR) application programming interface (API) platform. Companies looking to turn unstructured documents into structured data can quickly add AI-driven OCR capabilities to their apps without typical startup costs.

Developers can use their free account forever without fear of losing their work, without feature limitations, and without requiring a credit card. The only limit is the number of documents that developers can submit to the OCR API platform of 100 for the initial 14 days and then 50 per month. When ready, it’s easy to transition to a Starter account plan via self-service.

Veryfi enables organizations to capture, extract and transform documents such as receipts, invoices, purchase orders, checks, credit cards, and W-9 forms into structured data. Veryfi uses AI/ML technology, trained by hundreds of millions of documents over the past five years, to extract data and transform it into a structured format for 85 currencies, 39 languages, and over 110 defined fields such as vendor, total, bill to/ship to, purchase order and invoice numbers, any line item (product name, SKU, description), and taxes, which can then be accessed for other business applications.
