Foxit updates PDF SDK for Web 10.0

Foxit, a provider of PDF solutions, announced the launch of Foxit PDF SDK for Web 10.0, delivering new tools and features for developers. The PDF SDK is aimed at helping software developers in any industry to build apps with PDF functionality by leveraging the most popular development frameworks.

The new release is designed to improve efficiency by streamlining workflow. This update includes the introduction of Dynamic Library Loading, which reduces initial load time and memory usage. Foxit PDF SDK for Web 10.0 also welcomes a retooled Refactored Bookmark Module for faster and more efficient bookmark loading along with enhanced navigation within PDF documents. Other highlights:

  • Dynamic XFA Form-Fill Functionality – XFA forms can now utilize dynamic scripting capabilities, making them interactive and data-driven.

Syncro Soft announces Fusion 7.0

Syncro Soft announced the release of Oxygen Content Fusion 7.0, their web-based collaboration platform for content creation. The new version enhances the project support with a personal authoring workspace where you can make changes across multiple files and commit them directly to the repository. The Changes side-view enables previewing and changes before committing. An XML-aware conflict resolution tool pulls changes from the repository, detects conflicts, suggests automated solutions, and allows merging content manually. Along with the editing features for XML documents, the built-in Web Author allows you to edit Markdown files inside the authoring workspace providing syntax preview and toolbar actions to insert common structures.

The workspace feature includes a Publications side-view for browsing of a publication’s DITA map. Users can open the map in a specialized DITA map editor to modify the structure using toolbar or contextual menu actions. The editor supports advanced DITA features such as profiling attributes, key definitions, and map references.

Continuous Deployment for output is possible with support for publishing connectors to enable uploading to various platforms such as Amazon S3, Netlify, or servers with SFTP protocol. The output can be configured to include an “Edit Online” link in each topic that sends authors to their personal workspace where they can make changes.

Franz announces AllegroGraph 8.2

Additional updates include:

Knowledge Graph-as-a-Service – A new hosted, free version grants users access to AllegroGraph with LLMagic via a web login.

Enhanced Scalability and Performance – AllegroGraph includes enhanced FedShard capabilities making the management of sharding more straightforward and user-friendly, reducing query response time and improving system performance.

New Web Interface – AllegroGraph includes a redesign of its web interface, AGWebView, that provides an intuitive way to interact with the platform, while co-existing with the Classic View.

Advanced Knowledge Graph Visualization – A new version of Franz’s graph visualization software, Gruff v9, is integrated into AllegroGraph. Gruff now includes the ChatStream Natural Language Query feature as a new means to query your Knowledge Graph and is a visualization tool that illustrates RDF-Star (RDF*) annotations, enabling users to add descriptions to edges in a graph – such as scores, weights, temporal aspects and provenance.

Argo Translation launches CMSConnect: Slack

Argo Translation, a Chicago-based language services company, announced the launch of CMSConnect: Slack. The tool simplifies multilingual communication for the nearly 35 million users of Slack, a popular cloud-based team communication platform. This launch marks another addition to Argo Translation’s CMSConnect, a suite of translation connectors that includes translation integrations for a multitude of CMS, PIM, CRM, and DAM platforms, including Microsoft SharePoint, WordPress, and Adobe Experience Manager.

With native integration in the Slack platform, CMSConnect: Slack is easy to use. Once a customer has authorized Argo Translation access to their Slack workspace, customers can choose which of the 80+ languages and dialects they want available to their team. Afterward, users simply add the corresponding flag emoji to the text intended for non-English speakers to prompt an AI translation. Additionally, users can generate a voice message from translated text and translate attached documents.

Adobe updates Acrobat with GenAI and chat across document types

Adobe announced Acrobat customers can now create and edit images in PDFs using text prompts, powered by Adobe Firefly, along with new features in Acrobat AI Assistant integrated into Reader and Acrobat workflows that allow customers to ask questions, get insights, and create content from information across groups of PDFs as well as other document types.

The new Acrobat features enable customers to easily enhance existing images and generate new images in their PDFs with generative AI without leaving the app. Features include: 

  • Edit Image in Acrobat offers easy-to-use tools like the Firefly-powered Generative Fill, Remove Background, Erase and Crop to add, remove and revitalize content in document images in a snap. From erasing unwanted objects to removing backgrounds or adding new images, customers have full, easy control over the visuals in their PDFs.
  • With Generate Image in Acrobat, customers can add new images to their PDFs, powered by Adobe’s Firefly Image 3 Model. Customers can quickly adjust the size and style and add images to any part of a document.

Adobe is offering free, full access to all Acrobat AI Assistant features June 18 – June 28. Early access pricing for the AI Assistant add-on subscription starts at US$4.99 per month.
