Enterprise Hive Releases HiveSocial Version 3.0 and HiveSocial Now for Education

Enterprise Hive’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) collaboration platform HiveSocial has been upgraded to Microsoft’s .NET 4.0 Framework. This upgrade provides a technology infrastructure that allows customers more flexibility to connect to existing applications with their online communities. In addition, enhancements were developed to optimize user engagement. These enhancements include simplified content creation, ameliorated content search and navigation. Enterprise Hive also announced HiveSocial Now for Education. HiveSocial Now for Education has no software license fees, yet provides a social collaboration solution that can be fully implemented for customers within days. Running on the same platform as edu1world.org, HiveSocial and HiveSocial Now for Education are SaaS offerings that allow organizations to provide cross campus groups, multiple department teams and education user groups with branded public and private communities. North Plains Releases New Version of TeleScope Digital Asset Management System

EMC and Box Deliver Enterprise Content Management Mobility Through the Cloud

EMC Corporation announced a technology collaboration with Box to develop integrated content management solutions, bringing cloud-enabled sharing and collaboration to global enterprises. Customers get Box’s user interface, easy external collaboration, and content access from any mobile device, paired with the enterprise-class security, compliance and process management from EMC Documentum. EMC Documentum customers can connect their on-premise deployments to Box through Box’s ECM Cloud Connect, to synchronize, archive and transfer content between the two systems. The companies are currently working to build deeper integrations to offer customers a better content management and collaboration experience. Acquia Launches Drupal Gardens 1.0

Acquia announced the general availability release of Drupal Gardens 1.0 with new capabilities and pricing plans. Drupal Gardens is a way to build content-rich dynamic sites. Views provides Drupal Gardens with a collection of tools for site builders with the simplicity of software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery. Without writing any code, Views allows creation of custom mashups or combinations of content, media, user profiles, and more. Site builders can point and click to pull together any information on their site and craft lists, grids, tables, reports, RSS feeds, and navigation. Views can also be configured to display different results based on visitor interactions, such as displaying posts submitted over the past month versus the most popular. With Views, Drupal Gardens sites can be assembled and deployed with dynamic content. Importantly, there is no lock-in for site builders and owners with Drupal Gardens’ OpenSaaS approach. eZ Publish CMS now available in the Cloud

eZ Publish, a provider of enterprise content management solutions, now is available in a cloud version to meet the Web publishing needs of mid- and smaller-sized organizations. Called Granite Horizon In The Cloud, the eZ Publish content management system (CMS) is available on a software as a service (SaaS) basis through Granite Horizon LLC, a California-based web developer and implementer. GH In The Cloud is based on the eZ Publish platform with added extensions and custom features including a basic mobile site version, e-commerce and payment gateway, Google Analytics integration and RSS import/export.
