Digimarc offers free digital watermark embedding and detection tools to device and chip manufacturers and content creation platforms

Digimarc announced they are now offering device manufacturers, chip manufacturers, and content creation platforms free access to its Secure, Automated, Fair, and Efficient (SAFE) digital watermark embedding and detection tools for digital assets, to protect digital content owners and consumers.

In addition to gaining compliance with upcoming global regulations, device manufacturers (camera, smartphone, tablet, laptop, and more) and content platforms can now offer content creators native (on-device or in-platform) tools to bind authenticity and ownership information to digital assets by embedding digital watermarks before assets are published, while also protecting manifests based on the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) standard. These manifests are often stripped from content when uploaded to content libraries, websites, or published on social media.

Last month, Digimarc introduced an open-source web browser extension to validate and display digital asset manifests based on the C2PA standard. The new Content Credentials Chrome extension allows content consumers to check images for C2PA manifests – adding a Content Credentials pin (“CR”) to the image if a manifest is present. The web browser extension is now available in the Chrome Web Store.

Figma and Adobe abandoning proposed merger

Figma and Adobe have reached a joint decision to end our pending acquisition. It’s not the outcome we had hoped for, but despite thousands of hours spent with regulators around the world detailing differences between our businesses, our products, and the markets we serve, we no longer see a path toward regulatory approval of the deal.

We entered into this agreement 15 months ago with the goal of accelerating what both Adobe and Figma could do for our respective communities. While we leave that future behind and continue on as an independent company, we are excited to find ways to partner for our users.

Amid the uncertainty of a pending acquisition, I am deeply proud of how the Figma team delivered for our community and feel we have only continued to accelerate our pace over the past 15 months. Our team built and shipped new products to make it easier to ideate, design and build software, including our first native AI features, Dev Mode, Variables, and Advanced Prototyping. We also opened new hubs in the UK and Asia, hosted an epic Config IRL in San Francisco, acquired AI startup Diagram, and added more than 500 new Figmates.

Figma’s founding vision was to “eliminate the gap between imagination and reality.” The shift from a physical economy to a digital economy and huge advances in AI have combined to make this aspiration feel even more urgent and within reach today than it did 11 years ago.

This will be our focus moving forward. We want to make it easy for anyone to design and build digital products on a single multiplayer canvas—from start to finish, idea to production. Neo4j collaborating with AWS to enhance generative AI results

Neo4j announced a multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enable enterprises to achieve better generative artificial intelligence (AI) outcomes through a combination of knowledge graphs and native vector search that reduces generative AI hallucinations while making results more accurate, transparent, and explainable.

Neo4j also anncounced a new integration with Amazon Bedrock, a managed service that makes foundation models from AI companies accessible via an API to build and scale generative AI applications. Neo4j’s native integration with Amazon Bedrock enables:

  1. Reduced Hallucinations: Neo4j with Langchain and Amazon Bedrock can now work together using Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to create virtual assistants grounded in enterprise knowledge.
  2. Personalized experiences: Neo4j’s context-rich knowledge graphs integration with Amazon Bedrock can invoke an ecosystem of foundation models that generate personalized text generation and summarization for end users.
  3. Get complete answers during real-time search: Developers can leverage Amazon Bedrock to generate vector embeddings from unstructured data (text, images, and video) and enrich knowledge graphs using Neo4j’s new vector search and store capability.
  4. Kickstart a knowledge graph creation: Developers can leverage new generative AI capabilities using Amazon Bedrock to process unstructured data so it becomes structured and load it into a knowledge graph.

Acquia Site Studio introduces capabilities to create Drupal and headless applications from a single platform

Acquia announced new capabilities for Acquia Site Studio, the low-code Drupal website builder. Now, developers and marketers can create and manage digital experiences for traditional Drupal websites and headless applications using the same content. This allows marketers to create engaging digital experiences across digital channels from a single content platform, reducing demands on development and IT resources. 

Acquia Site Studio offers an intuitive visual page building and content authoring experience for Drupal. In a traditional website build, Site Studio allows non-technical users to create components, layouts, and content without the need for PHP and JavaScript. Now, with the launch of the new JSON:API for Site Studio, JavaScript and front end developers can easily access the content and layouts created via Site Studio in decoupled or headless apps to create more engaging, interactive digital experiences. The new feature requires Acquia Site Studio 7.4 and above and use of a modern version of Drupal.
