Smarsh introduces voice capture and archiving for Microsoft Teams

Smarsh introduced voice recording, transcription and archiving support for Microsoft Teams. Already providing text-based capture and archiving for Teams, Smarsh now enables clients to adopt another mode of communication and collaboration to help regulated organizations meet compliance and e-discovery obligations. Teams audio files can be transcribed in over 120 languages and regional dialects. Once ingested into Smarsh Connected Archive solutions, content is automatically indexed, stored in immutable format and accessible at any time in a search-ready state. Customers can play back voice calls (including those made within and outside of Teams meetings), and search voice transcriptions and call metadata alongside all of the content within their archive. They can also extend Supervision and Discovery workflows to include Teams voice content.

Beyond support for voice files and transcription, Smarsh captures content in one-to-one chats, multi-party chats and persistent channels including edits, deletes, replies, emojis, GIFs, files, stickers and links. Smarsh also captures content across other channels, including email, mobile text messages, collaboration platforms, social media and voice channels. Content can be ingested into Smarsh Connected Archive solutions or can be exported to an existing archive or enterprise content management (ECM) system.

Adobe releases new versions of technical communication tools

Adobe announced the new release of technical communication products – Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, and Adobe Technical Communication Suite. Adobe Technical Communication Suite includes the latest versions of Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter, and Adobe Acrobat. While FrameMaker and RoboHelp help create and deliver technical content, Captivate facilitates the creation of responsive eLearning content, and Presenter helps create dynamic presentations to enable on-demand learning.

With the latest release of FrameMaker, authors can create intelligent content for long, complex documents more productively. Authoring in XML or DITA has a modern, easy-to-use workspace. Being able to collaborate using online review speeds up the content workflow. Also, authors can work with Content Management Systems (CMSs), and publish from a single source, to a range of outputs including WYSIWYG PDF, Responsive HTML5, EPUB, and mobile app. With RoboHelp for both Windows and Mac, authors can create microcontent to fuel chatbots, author media-rich experiences using HTML5 and CSS3, and collaborate using web-based review capabilities. Rounding up the release is the latest update of XML Documentation for Adobe Experience Manager, a component content management system (CCMS) built on top of Adobe Experience Manager.

Microsoft announces Together Mode and other features for Teams

Microsoft announced a set of new features in Microsoft Teams to make virtual interactions more natural, more engaging, and more human for people at work and in education. They help you feel more connected with your team and reduce meeting fatigue, make meetings more inclusive and engaging, and streamline your work to save time. Together mode is a new meeting experience in Teams that uses AI segmentation technology to digitally place participants in a shared background, making it feel like you’re sitting in the same room with everyone else in the meeting or class. Together mode is designed to make meetings more engaging by helping you focus on other people’s faces and body language and making it easier to pick up on the non-verbal cues that are so important to human interaction. For meetings in which multiple people will speak, such as brainstorms or roundtable discussions, it makes it easier for participants to understand who is talking. Together mode with auditorium view is rolling out now and will be generally available in August. For more information about additional views and features see:

Slack acquires Rimeto

Slack and Rimeto announced that Slack has acquired Rimeto. Rimeto’s advanced profile and directory features will be integrated into Slack directly, but Slack will also continue to offer Rimeto as a standalone product and support their existing enterprise customers. Rimeto offers an enterprise wide, searchable directory, automatically integrating information from across a company to deliver rich profiles of every employee, their skills, experience, and current projects. Channels make it easy to find the information needed to understand what teams are working on. Now with Rimeto it will also be easy to find the people needed and understand the humans you’re working with. The traditional enterprise directory includes pretty limited information, usually what you’d find on a business card, and search is limited the same way. But Rimeto provides search across every attribute — whether for a project leader, everyone who worked with a specific customer, an expert on sales cycles in a particular region, or additional information about a new team member.
