BetterCommerce adds headless CMS functionality to its commerce stack

BetterCommerce, a company in the headless and composable commerce space, has added headless content management system functionality to its commerce stack in an addition to its already existing modules: PIM, eCommerce, OMS, Analytics, and Engage. The new headless CMS will be an addition to the already existing drag-and-drop page builder which is a part of the eCommerce module.

With BetterCommerce already having PIM and ecommerce modules, CMS has strengthened the stack by making it an end-to-end solution suite and has made the platform more flexible and agile. Integrating CMS to eCommerce sites generally poses a challenge but now, with BetterCommerce having its own CMS has made the commerce stack more powerful complementing the ecommerce platform.

The architecture offers features such as Release and Version Management, Workflow Management, Unlimited fields and grouping of fields via components, Reusable components to create multiple pages, Preview feature on different devices, and easily usable Create/Edit and publish pages being the top ones. The CMS being headless in nature, has enabled content to be created and exposed via APIs to be consumed across any device.

Snowflake to acquire Mobilize.Net’s SnowConvert

Snowflake announced it has signed a definitive agreement for Snowflake to acquire SnowConvert, a suite of tools for efficiently migrating databases to the Data Cloud, from Mobilize.Net.

A key challenge with platform migrations is the code conversion required to ensure that all legacy database functionality can be moved to the cloud with minimal time and effort. The SnowConvert toolkit has long been a preferred solution for migrating customer workloads to Snowflake, using sophisticated automation techniques that reduce the need for manual coding and help ensure migration projects are successful.

After converting more than 1.5 billion lines of code1 with SnowConvert, the toolkit has proven to significantly reduce migration effort and improve the speed of migrating legacy databases to Snowflake through the built-in analysis capabilities at a data-type and procedure level, as well as matching to Snowflake native types. In addition to legacy database conversions, SnowConvert also converts workloads written in Scala and Python, making it easy to transfer that code to Snowflake’s Snowpark developer environment.

Closing of the acquisition is subject to the receipt of required regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. SnowConvert will expand Snowflake’s professional services footprint in Costa Rica, Colombia, and Bellevue, Washington.

Fivetran introduces Metadata API

Fivetran announced the availability of Fivetran’s Metadata API to enable the tracking of data “in-flight” from source to destination as it moves through Fivetran-managed pipelines. With this additional visibility, customers can integrate with governance and observability tools to give data teams more control over who has access to what data. With the Fivetran Metadata API:

  • Data analysts are provided with a deep understanding of where data is coming from and are able to run impact analyses on it.
  • Data stewards know end users have access to data that has been handled securely and is compliant with governance requirements.
  • Security and legal teams can complete security audits and ensure the data moved is in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Data architects and engineers will soon be able to understand upstream schema changes and ensure downstream processes are updated.

Fivetran launched better metadata management with four data catalog vendors: Atlan, data.world, Alation and Collibra.
