Payload headless content management system launches

Payload CMS launched a content management system and application framework built with NodeJS, React and MongoDB. Payload is a “headless” CMS that allows you to edit and publish content in one place, but use your content from any number of devices—including websites, mobile apps, smart TVs, wearables, etc. They don’t place restrictions on how developers build their apps and focus solely on managing and delivering content. Payload was built to deliver the JavaScript community a “silver-bullet” content management solution. Although it’s not the first JavaScript CMS, many JS developers still use WordPress in a headless role for their CMS—which is built with PHP and initially only meant to be a blogging platform. Pega acquires Qurious.io for speech analytics

Pegasystems Inc. announced its acquisition of Qurious.io, Inc., a cloud-based real-time speech analytics solution powered by artificial intelligence (AI) for customer service teams. Terms of the deal are not being disclosed. Qurious.io’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering uses speech-to-text, natural language processing (NLP), and emotion detection capabilities to analyze the dialog within each customer service call as it happens. The software then provides agents with real-time insights and coaching so they can improve customer interactions, make better recommendations, and boost customer loyalty and sales. Pega plans to add Qurious.io’s capabilities to its software portfolio with an initial focus on Pega Customer Service use cases.

MarkLogic announces new Tableau connector

MarkLogic Corporation announced the availability of its new connector in the Tableau Extension Gallery, enabling fast and easy connections to the Tableau analytics platform. cPanel releases WP Toolkit for cPanel

cPanel, provider of web hosting automation software, announced the release of WP Toolkit for cPanel, a feature-rich application with user-friendly installation, configuration, security, and management of WordPress websites. WP Toolkit for cPanel exists as both a free version (Lite) and as a paid upgrade (Deluxe). All of the functionality one could hope for in a WordPress tool, such as staging and cloning, Smart Updates to automatic hardening which protects against security vulnerabilities, and the auto-installation of plugin and theme sets are included, saving time and simplifying the management of single or multiple WordPress installations. Panopto adds collaboration features for rapid knowledge sharing

Panopto, a video management system provider for enterprise and higher education, announced new features that make it easy for users to discover and share knowledge through on-demand videos and meeting recordings. Creators now have new ways to increase visibility of their videos, and viewers have easy ways to follow creators and topics of interest to them. The new features include:

  • Tags. Content creators and administrators can now apply tags to videos and manage the set of tags available on their site. From the library and the viewer interfaces, users can see the tags applied to each video and find other tagged videos with a single click.
  • Sharing moments in a video. Viewers can share a link to a specific point in a video from the viewer interface. As long as the sharing recipient has permission to view the video, they will be taken to the exact moment in the video that was shared. This feature is especially useful for employees and students collaborating on projects or sharing moments from recorded meetings.
  • Subscriptions. Viewers can now subscribe to secure videos from specific creators, tags, and folders, surfacing the content that is most important to them right on their homepage.
