Acquia announces updates to Acquia Code Studio

Acquia announced major updates to Acquia Code Studio, a full stack Drupal development platform. A part of Acquia Digital Experience Platform (DXP), Acquia Code Studio provides developers with the tools to plan, build, review, test, deploy, and measure Drupal applications. New updates integrate Code Studio with the Acquia Cloud Platform UI, reducing effort during the procurement and configuration processes.

Developers can now manage their Code Studio seats from the platform in a User Management screen, assign Acquia account users to their Code Studio seats, grant and set roles for their users, and un-assign and reassign seats. Developers can automatically provision Code Studio projects from the platform UI, and see links on their Acquia Cloud environments to the corresponding branch in Code Studio. Features include: 

  • AutoDevOps: Automatically build, test, and deploy Drupal applications with Acquia Code Studio managed continuous integration pipelines.
  • Automatic Updates: Automatically updates Composer packages, replaces deprecated custom code, and submits those changes for users to review in a Merge Request with a dedicated review environment.
  • Powered by GitLab: In partnership with GitLab, Acquia hosts and manages a version of GitLab that is customized for Drupal and Acquia developers on the company’s next-generation infrastructure.

TransPerfect debuts MediaNEXT integration for Brightcove

TransPerfect, a provider of language and technology solutions for global business, today announced a new MediaNEXT integration is available in the Brightcove Marketplace. The solution gives users a new way to leverage TransPerfect’s MediaNEXT creative media localization management solution with Brightcove’s Video Cloud platform. MediaNEXT is TransPerfect’s specialized media division that offers a wide variety of media globalization solutions for international storytelling. MediaNEXT’s hybrid model for media localization leverages a cloud-based technology platform and a worldwide network of production centers, recording studios, and mixing rooms.

The combination of Brightcove’s streaming technology platform and MediaNEXT’s extended media localization capabilities provides users with a comprehensive solution for managing global media content with minimal effort. The integration pulls source material automatically and securely from Brightcove into MediaNEXT for translation and localization. Upon completion, audio and text tracks are routed back into Brightcove.

TigerGraph to support openCypher in GSQL

TigerGraph, provider of an advanced analytics and ML platform for connected data, announced its commitment to support openCypher, a popular query language for building graph database applications. Developers can now access a limited preview translation tool to learn how openCypher support will appear in TigerGraph’s flagship graph query language, GSQL. Support for openCypher will give developers more choice to build or migrate graph applications to TigerGraph’s scalable, secure, and managed graph database platform.

The openCypher-to-GSQL translation tool is now available to the openCypher developer community to access a side-by-side comparison of openCypher queries and the equivalent GSQL queries with proposed openCypher syntax support. With this limited preview, developers are encouraged to learn how openCypher will appear in GSQL and provide feedback to guide the incremental buildout of full support features. Those who want to learn advanced GSQL can now access TigerGraph’s offerings, including its distributed computing database, in-database machine learning workbench, and graph data science library, which consists of more than 55 graph algorithms.

TigerGraph’s openCypher support aligns with support for industry standard GQL. TigerGraph serves on the ISO steering committee that is developing GQL, the new international standard query language that will be available in early 2024.

Altova announces Version 2023

Altova announced the release of Version 2023 of its desktop developer tools, server software, and regulatory solutions. The version includes dark mode, as well as a modern new light mode, in the company’s products. Altova also introduces a new XML Schema Manager that provides a centralized mechanism for downloading, installing, and managing industry-standard schemas for convenient use across the product line. New features across the product line include:

  • New Dark and Light modes in XMLSpy and MapForce
  • Altova XML Schema Manager: a centralized tool for downloading and managing industry-standard DTDs and XSDs for use with all XML-enabled Altova products. This also offers a streamlined way to work with schema versions that become available outside the Altova product release schedule.
  • Support for additional EDI formats in MapForce: for converting and integrating EDI with other data, MapForce 2023 now supports ODETTE messages, which are used by the auto industry in Europe.
  • Support for additional database versions across the product line: Altova products support all major relational database types.
  • New Altova ESEF XBRL Add-in for Excel: this add-in allows financial professionals to prepare ESEF (European Single Electronic Format) reports in valid XBRL as mandated by EU regulatory agencies, all in Excel.

Sitecore releases new public cloud products

The new solutions include Sitecore Search, an AI-powered search and discovery function that provides marketers with a unified delivery system; Content Hub One, a headless CMS that combines content modeling, authoring, and consumption into a single interface; and Sitecore Connect, a technology stack optimizer that allows brands to connect Sitecore products to their existing infrastructure.

Sitecore Search is a content discovery solution that customizes how content is matched, sorted, and promoted to mirror the specific needs of a consumer’s search experience. This product is a plug-and-play solution that can be applied to an existing website.

Sitecore has adapted its Content Hub offering for brands looking for entry points into digital experience delivery versus a holistic marketing strategy. The result is Content Hub One,  a headless CMS system that allows brands to launch and manage experiences on web, mobile, smart displays, voice assistants, and marketplaces. Content Hub One helps developers build frontends using any framework for data-driven content experiences. This solution is an entry point that allows customers to upgrade to the full capabilities of Content Hub.

Sitecore Connect, via a simple drag and drop UI, will allow brands to seamlessly and easily connect Sitecore products to an existing technology stack.

TransPerfect acquires Hiventy Group

TransPerfect, a provider of language and technology solutions for global business, announced that it has acquired France-based media house Hiventy Group. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Hiventy specializes in technical audiovisual services including post-production, localization, distribution, and film restoration. The company is based in Paris and serves a multinational client base through its global locations, which include Warsaw, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Casablanca, Nairobi, and Lagos.

Technical audiovisual services has been an important growth market for TransPerfect, and this acquisition brings its total owned-and-operated footprint to over 90 recording rooms and eight theatrical rooms worldwide, expanding capacity for post-production, subtitling, dubbing, and audio description services, as well as strengthening its content distribution and restoration offerings.

Adobe delivers new creative, document, and marketing capabilities

At this weeks Adobe Max event Adobe announced new automation and collaboration features across Adobe Creative Cloud and the Adobe product portfolio, helping small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) modernize workflows in creativity and productivity. 

Creative Cloud now enables SMBs to move between interoperable apps, leverage the best tool for each task and access fonts and stock photo, illustration, video and 3D assets within the apps:  

  • Adobe Express enables easy creation of impactful social media posts based upon thousands of templates, which can be customized within the app or accessed within Adobe Fonts for blank canvas testing.
  • Share for Review (beta) allows users to share a version-specific link to a Photoshop or Illustrator file, then automatically flow reviewers’ comments back into the app.
  • AI powered by Adobe Sensei delivers new capabilities across Creative Cloud, simplifying and automating repetitive tasks.   

New capabilities for SMBs across Document Cloud and Experience Cloud, including Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Commerce and Adobe Marketo Engage:

  • Adobe Acrobat introduced free web-based watermarking, cropping, redaction, OCR, stamping, certifying and page numbering tools to take actions on documents.
  • Adobe Commerce enables incorporation of Walmart’s, PayPal’s and FedEx’s enterprise-grade solutions, enabling an omnichannel customer experience. 
  • Adobe Marketo Engage adds a new, entry-level automation package that helps SMBs automate and scale their marketing efforts.

ApostropheCMS launches Document Versions tool

ApostropheCMS allows multiple content contributors and editors to work on documents across multiple sites. Keeping track of when changes were made to a document and who made those changes is critical. The enterprise edition of ApostropheCMS has an important new tool for managing the content pipeline. The Document Versions tool facilitates the use and management of multiple versions of a document (page).

Alongside the core ApostropheCMS functionality, this new tool allows reversion to older versions of any document. Now, we can view a list of all published content on a page, preview them as they exist in the current page, and elect to rollback to a previous version.

The Documents Versions tool allows us to keep a record of all the changes made to our content, and which editor made the changes. We can also elect to view or roll-back to previous versions of our choice. This provides easier collaboration and editorial control of all our documents. The Documents Version module is available with a paid plan.
