XAware Announces Partnerships

XAware, Inc. announced partnerships with eight application server, data access, XML editor and e-commerce channel vendors. XAware’s application server partners are BEA, IBM, Sun and JBOSS. XAware leverages the common services of these application server partners by providing reusable XML-views of disparate data sources. For software vendors, businesses or IT shops that don’t use application servers within their application stacks, XAware can run as a component to add interoperability, XML integration and Web services to packaged applications or custom applications. XAware, through its embeddable integration components, offers an approach to data integration and an alternative to EAI solutions and custom development. XAware’s application, database and information access partners include Attunity and Insevo. Octave Announces Content Management Solution for SMB Market

Octave Software, Inc. announced WebOctave M-Class, targeting the small to mid-size business (SMB) market. WebOctave M-Class will be available on Linux and included in the IBM eServer Integrated Platform for e-business. The IBM eServer Integrated Platform includes xSeries hardware, WebSphere Application Server supporting Web Services, and DB2 database software for Linux. The offering will support JAVA-based applications including solutions for finance, retail, e-commerce, telecommunications, distribution and manufacturing. WebOctave M-Class is providing the CM capability for the offering. WebOctave M-Class uses the same architecture as Octave Software’s product for the enterprise, now branded WebOctave E-Class. WebOctave M-Class also includes pre-built components for rapid deployment. WebOctave M-Class will be available on Linux in the first quarter of 2003. Additional platform support will follow. iPhrase Announces One Step 4.0

iPhrase Technologies, Inc. announced the availability of One Step 4.0 with Interaction Advantage. The new platform also supports multiple languages, improves business intelligence through expanded reporting and improves business user control through the introduction of Web-based administration tools. The One Step 4.0 platform combines conceptual understanding, multi-source retrieval, dynamic presentation, and the application of business rules to provide improved interactions. iPhrase One Step 4.0 is tolerant to language, spelling and usage, and provides a feedback loop that tells the user how the question was interpreted. iPhrase Announces Partner Program for ISVs

iPhrase Technologies, Inc. unveiled its partner program for independent software vendors (ISVs). Companies that wish to integrate a self-service search platform can now partner with iPhrase. iPhrase One Step adds value to ISVs in a variety of different markets, including: Content Management, Enterprise Portals, CRM, eCommerce, EAI, Databases, and Business Intelligence/Management Reporting. Partner members will receive access to the needed tools and program support necessary to develop their software integration. Starphire Releases Free Version of SiteSage

Starphire Technologies has released a special free version of its SiteSage web site content management software. The SiteSage Personal Edition (PE) is intended for personal non-commercial use. However, businesses can trial the personal edition free for 30 days as a way to test the web-based solution’s content management and ecommerce features. In addition, Starphire is offering special pricing on business versions of SiteSage. Through July 31, the SiteSage Lite Edition (LE) is available for $995 and SiteSage Standard Edition (SE) is available for $3,995. SiteSage LE regularly costs $1,500. SiteSage SE regularly costs $4,900. SiteSage provides small to medium-sized businesses the ability to launch and maintain professional web sites — from simple brochure-type content to ecommerce and search engine services — without requiring HTML proficiency or ongoing support from technical staff. Vignette Announces Release of V6 Content Collaboration Server

Vignette Corp. announced the release of Vignette V6 Content Collaboration Server (VCCS). The updated VCCS version combines the functionality of Vignette V6 Content Collaboration Server and Vignette V6 Content Syndication Server into a single, integrated extension for the Vignette V6 Content Suite. Under the umbrella of one browser-based application, companies can collaborate with external partners, customers, suppliers and employees through services such as targeted subscriptions; real-time content syndication to applications and portals, both within and outside the firewall; and collaborative exchange of documents and other content within and between enterprises. Interwoven & NEC Team

Interwoven, Inc. announced a strategic alliance with NEC Corporation whereby NEC will re-sell the Interwoven Content Infrastructure product suite as the core enterprise content management functionality in its iBestSolutions. NEC’s Internet solutions framework, iBestSolutions, consists of the complete line of NEC’s software and services offerings. Under the new reseller agreement, NEC will adopt Interwoven’s TeamSite, and the Interwoven Content Infrastructure suite, as the exclusive enterprise content management system underpinning its own customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise information portal (EIP), and eCommerce (EC) solutions. NEC also plans to develop integrated solutions that incorporate Content Infrastructure into its existing product offerings, establish an enterprise content management training and support program and initiate co-sales and co-marketing activities. Adobe GoLive 6.0 Now Available

Adobe Systems Incorporated announced the immediate availability of Adobe GoLive 6.0 software. With the new Adobe Web Workgroup Server, GoLive Dynamic Content authoring, and Web layout tool all in one package. The Workgroup server included in GoLive 6.0 enables teams to collaborate on projects and effectively manage Web and cross-media assets. New Dynamic Content authoring capabilities and native support for ASP, JSP and PHP lets designers easily configure a Web site to support data-driven transactions for e-commerce. GoLive 6.0 offers Web and cross-media professionals integration with Adobe’s professional design products, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and LiveMotion. XML support enables content to be re-purposed from print to Web, while new wireless authoring capabilities offer developers the ability to design, preview and deploy wireless content directly from GoLive. QuickTime 5.0 editing and SMIL support for RealOne Player are included. GoLive 6.0 is available in the United States and Canada for an estimated street price of US $399.
