Interwoven to Resell Kofax Ascent Capture

Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq:IWOV) and Kofax (LSE: DCM.L) announced a deepened partnership through a new reseller agreement to provide enterprises with seamless integration of imaging and information capture capabilities with Interwoven ECM solutions. Under the new agreement, Interwoven will resell the Kofax Ascent Capture product, providing customers an ECM solution from a single vendor to reduce costs and improve efficiencies through the unified management of paper and electronic content. Under the reseller agreement, Kofax Ascent Capture will be integrated with Interwoven’s Web Content Management, Document Management, and Content Intelligence offerings. With the integration of Kofax with Interwoven Content Intelligence metadatainformation about contentis automatically applied to content to help users more accurately file and search for content.

SDL Updates Enterprise GIM Applications

SDL International announced the latest releases of its enterprise GIM applications, SDL Translation Management System 2006 and SDL TeamWorks 2006. SDL Translation Management System and SDL TeamWorks unify the translation and localization supply chain and link multiple vendors to provide the collaboration, control, integration and process flow required to prepare content for a global audience. The new releases integrate SDL and TRADOS technologies. SDL GIM applications support XML, DITA, TMX and XLIFF. SDL Translation Management System 2006 delivers new capabilities for enterprise administration and integration, including LDAP for user authentication, enhanced Web services and richer metadata support to facilitate greater process automation. Also included is interoperability with SDLX 2005.1, SDL TRADOS 7.1 for translation memory and SDL MultiTerm 7.1 for terminology management and enhanced standards support for processing DITA-compliant XML. SDL TeamWorks 2006 delivers enhanced performance, scalability and usability, and adds editing and review capabilities in an easy-to-use browser-based environment, as well as a new QA verification plug-in framework. New York State Agencies Present Results from UAlbany’s Center for Technology in Government’s XML Testbed

Five New York State agencies presented the lessons learned and benefits gained from their participation in the Center for Technology in Government’s (CTG) XML Testbed. The Testbed served to assist New York State agencies in examining the benefits as well as the challenges of Web site management using the emerging technology of XML. The Testbed was undertaken in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations (GOER), the Office of the Chief Information Officer
(OCIO), and the Office for Technology (OFT). Beginning in the summer of 2005, five New York State agencies were selected to take part in CTG’s XML Testbed and underwent six months of intensive hands-on training and workshops, which led to an XML-based Web site prototype and a business case analysis for each agency. The five participating agencies are the NYS Department of Civil Service, NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal, NYS Higher Education Services Corporation, NYS Office of Cultural Education, State Education Department and NYS Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. In the second phase of the Testbed, CTG will examine the Testbed activities and the agency results to produce a set of practical guidelines and case studies that draw on the experiences of Testbed participants to provide guidance for others trying to improve the management, performance, and value of their Web sites. Meadows Publishing Solutions Release MPS Index Builder for Catalog Indexes

Meadows Publishing Solutions (MPS) announced that they have released MPS Index Builder, a software module for QuarkXPress users that creates catalog indexes. Using the new software, catalog publishers can reduce the production time of creating a catalog index from hours to minutes. MPS Index Builder, compatible with QuarkXPress 6.5, is now available from MPS and its distributors. MPS Index Builder was designed for catalog-specific workflows. Index entries can be entered by hand at any time, or imported from a tab-separated text file. In addition, AutoPrice users can also extract SKU information to include in the final index. You can import existing indexes, make changes, and start tagging for the future. Index entries can also be saved, exported and shared by any other workstation. New Gilbane Government Conference with CMS Watch

As Tony over at CMS Watch says, he has been nagging us for a long time to do a conference in Washington DC focused on content technologies for federal government applications. Tony got his wish but only by agreeing to help!

Our new conference will be at the Reagan Building, June 13 -15, 2006, and is being produced in conjunction with CMS Watch with Tony as the conference chair. We’ve done a fair bit of work for the government over the years and are looking forward to doing more in DC, and to working with Tony on the event. There is a call for papers, and the deadline for submissions is February 28, 2006.

FAST InStream to be Integrated Into SAXOTECH’s Web Publishing Platform
