Hot Banana Software Announces Latest Version of its Active Marketing Web Content Management Suite

Hot Banana Software Inc. announced the upgrade availability of Hot Banana Active Marketing Web Content Management Suite Version 5.3, designed to further consolidate Web Content Management and eMarketing activities into one platform. Hot Banana Version 5.3 is a significant point upgrade, in that it contains enhancements to its Web Content Management functionality and performance, such as Advanced Metadata Management (conforms to the Dublin Core Standard,) Universal Listing Module to easily manage complex structured content areas, and page-by-page SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Management. The Hot Banana Active Marketing Solution has also been significantly upgraded with features such as, Atlas, Google and Yahoo! search engine campaign tracking code integration, Flash Streaming Media Manager for placing video directly into Web pages, Keyword Web Page Analyzer, enabling non-technical users to analyze every SEO attribute of a Web page, PRWeb Press Release distribution integration, and upgraded integration with WebTrends 7.5 On Demand.

Vasont Systems Announces Content Management Starter Kit

Vasont Systems announced a free CMS Starter Kit designed to help novices quickly and easily enter the content management world. The CMS Starter Kit contains a short crash course in content management for those new to the subject, four printable checklists for topics such as developing a business case and evaluating systems, an ROI calculator, and a downloadable template for soliciting a Request for Information (RFI) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) from CMS vendors.

Altova Launches Solutions Center

Altova announced the launch of a new online resource that describes how current and emerging business problems can be solved using XML and other cutting edge technologies. The Altova Solutions Center is aimed at both business
managers and technical professionals. It provides counsel on implementing single-source multi-channel publishing, data integration, and content assembly solutions. Each area of the Altova Solutions Center contains specific business scenarios, real world case studies, white papers, technical guidance, and product and service recommendations. The center also provides information about two new packaged solution components from Altova Professional Services, the Data Server and Content Assembler solutions. These components are designed to help customers accelerate data integration and content assembly projects.

Whitehill Technologies Announces OEM Reseller Partnership with Computer Associates

Whitehill Technologies Inc. announced an OEM reseller partnership with Computer Associates International, Inc. The partnership builds on the relationship established in 2004, Whitehill xml-Transport became CA Smart Certified. Under the terms of this agreement, CA will resell and distribute Whitehill xml-Transport, Whitehill Transform Suite, Whitehill Gateway, and Whitehill Layout Designer. Whitehill xml-Transport is a 24/7 production solution for data conversion, enhancement and distribution. Whitehill Transform Suite converts print streams into other formats including including PDF, PostScript, TIFF, AFP, PCL, XML, Xerox normalized Metacode and CSV files. Whitehill Gateway provides an access point, or ‘gateway’ for customers to easily find and retrieve information and documents that have been created using Whitehill products such as Whitehill xml-Transport. Whitehill Layout Designer is a graphical interface to design stylesheets that control the presentation of XML data.

Certus Software & Vignette to Provide Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Solution

Vignette Corp. (NASDAQ: VIGN) and Certus Software announced that they will join forces to expand the breadth of their compliance offerings by together bringing to market a Sarbanes-Oxley compliance application with a records management backbone. This integrated solution enables critical compliance information to be correctly managed over its lifecycle. Certus and Vignette’s shared compliance vision leverages Certus’ Governance Suite and Vignette’s Records & Documents. The capabilities will be integrated to allow business information to be safely stored in a secure repository with rights and privileges specific to each end user. By applying lifecycle management to each record, businesses can safely store compliance-related data as long as legally mandated and no longer, thereby reducing both overall risk and the mass of outdated and irrelevant information clogging the enterprise infrastructure. Vignette’s secure repository will provide management and protection of compliance information, tying in Certus’ compliance framework to the most current and relevant business critical information. Business users will be able to use the repository as a single source of compliance information, which includes paper, email, Web content, images, electronic documents, audio and video, in a secure environment configurable to their needs.,

Interwoven Announces Availability of Integration with Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server

Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV) announced the availability of a new integration with Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2003. Interwoven WorkSite for SharePoint extends the ease-of-use and ubiquity of Interwoven’s Collaborative Document Management (CDM) solution by enabling business professionals to easily access Interwoven CDM within the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 environment. The WorkSite for SharePoint integration is the first offering resulting from the recently expanded relationship between Interwoven and Microsoft. Interwoven WorkSite for SharePoint will be generally available at the end of September 2005.

BEA to Acquire Plumtree Software

BEA Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAS) and Plumtree Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:PLUM) announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which BEA will acquire Plumtree for approximately USD$200 million in cash. Plumtree Software provides enterprise portal solutions to connect disparate work groups, IT systems and business processes. Its portfolio runs on both J2EE and .Net. By combining the Plumtree and BEA portal portfolios, BEA will be able to better provide customers with improved enterprise productivity by offering both collaborative and transactional portals across multiple platforms and application servers. Under terms of the agreement, BEA will pay USD$5.50 per share, in cash, plus the assumption of outstanding Plumtree options, for a total transaction value of approximately USD$200 million. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval, Plumtree shareholder approval and other customary closing conditions. The transaction is expected to close in the fall of calendar year 2005. Upon close of the transaction, Plumtree will become a part of a new BEA product unit. BEA Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President, Mark Carges, and Plumtree Software Chief Executive Officer, John Kunze, will lead the transition. Headquartered in San Francisco, Plumtree was founded in 1996 and has approximately 400 employees, more than 21 million worldwide users, and more than 700 customers.,
