Venetica Announces VeniceBridge 5.0

Venetica announced a major release of VeniceBridge. The new release will increase the types of content repositories that can be integrated with enterprise applications through VeniceBridge’s single, bi-directional interface. VeniceBridge 5.0 will expand its universal view to include a common inbox to workflow engines such as Documentum and FileNET, and independent BPM engines such as MQSeries Workflow. Target engines also include BizTalk, Open Text, and Staffware. VeniceBridge 5.0 will also make statements, invoices and other information stored in enterprise report management (ERM) systems available. Target ERM systems include IBM OnDemand, Mobius ViewDirect and FileNET Panagon Report Manager. The release includes an event subscription model that can provide notification when a document or workflow change has been made. VeniceBridge will extend the current interface with higher-level, document-oriented web services transactions. VeniceBridge 5.0 will also provide new features for handling geographically dispersed content sources and extremely large content such as audio, video and high-resolution images. VeniceBridge 5.0 will be generally available in Q2 2003. www.venetica.com

Context Media Introduces Intershare, a Web Services Client

Context Media, Inc. announced the release of Intershare, a Web Services software client to provide organizations universal desktop access to enterprise content. The new software client — which works in tandem with Context Media’s Interchange Suite — gives users the ability to access and use content stored in commercial or homegrown content management or digital asset management systems. Content access is enabled by simply clicking the “Open File” or “Insert File” command and importing content to the desktop. Intershare is a compliant implementation of SOAP 1.2. SOAP acts as the communication layer for the access and exchange of information between Context Media’s products. Intershare presents an enterprise-wide content catalog on the user’s desktop, with seamless point-and-click accessibility. To the user, accessing enterprise content is the same as accessing a shared file system or disk drive on a local computer. For example, a user working in Microsoft Office PowerPoint can use the “Open File” or “Insert File” commands to directly import a graphic stored in separate, disparate content management systems, such as Vignette or Interwoven, without leaving PowerPoint. The user needs to have no knowledge or understanding of the ECM/DAM storage system, its location or operation. www.contextmedia.com

Context Media Introduces Interchange Suite 3.0

Context Media, Inc. announced the release of Interchange Suite 3.0, its enterprise content management software solution. Interchange Suite 3.0 allows distributed and disparate digital asset and content repositories to remain distributed, while giving users a single, unified way to access the content these repositories contain. The suite is comprised of three software applications. The Interchange Suite components can work together or on their own. The Interchange Suite web services-based applications include: Interchange Content Server – the core web services suite that categorizes, manages and powers access to enterprise content; Interchange Integration Console – discovers content stored in various distributed and disparate content, document and digital asset management systems across the enterprise; and Interchange Distribution Console – provides services that allow companies to deliver content across the enterprise and to external parties. All services and features are enabled in a web services environment interoperable with Sun One and Microsoft.Net initiatives. Interchange Suite ships with support for Sun Solaris, Linux and Microsoft Windows 2000; application server support for BEA, iPlanet, JBoss, Oracle 9iAS and IBM Websphere; and database support for ODBC and JDBC compliant databases. www.contextmedia.com

The Ipedo Dynamic Information Suite Version 3.2 will be available starting in the fourth quarter of this year for Windows 2000, Windows NT, Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux. Ipedo Introduces XML Views Integration Technology

Ipedo introduced Ipedo XML Views, an integration technology that unifies information management for portals, custom Web applications and Web services initiatives. Integrated into its Ipedo XML Database and Ipedo Integration Manager, XML Views expands the reach of corporate information resources. Ipedo XML Views are virtual, real-time snapshots of information from external XML and non-XML sources presented in XML to simplify integration tasks in applications. Once constructed, XML Views can be manipulated using XML query and transformation standards, and multiple XML Views can be combined to create information composites tailored for specific applications. Ipedo’s XML Views technology provides virtual connections to remote information sources for quick, easy access, whether structured data from databases or unstructured Web content. The XML Views architecture works across existing relational databases, content management systems and Web Services, and can be tailored using an adapter development kit. The all-Java design includes support for JDBC, JMS, and SOAP, and can be deployed in conjunction with J2EE application servers such as BEA WebLogic or IBM WebSphere. www.ipedo.com
