FileNet Corporation and Venetica announced a relationship under which FileNet will re-sell Venetica’s Content Provider for the FileNet P8 Workplace, FileNet’s user interface for its FileNet P8 ECM architecture. The Content Provider for FileNet P8 Workplace leverages Venetica’s product VeniceBridge, and enables FileNet customers to access existing enterprise content through FileNet’s common API and user interface. FileNet’s VCM solution enables users to browse and search external content sources, and includes support for existing FileNet repositories, third party content management systems and custom content sources. Mobius Management Systems, Inc. announced the availability of ViewDirect Total Content Integrator, a new product that provides access through a single interface to content stored in disparate repositories. ViewDirect Total Content Integrator enables cross-repository, cross-platform searching and retrieval of content in any format stored in silos from vendors such as FileNet and IBM as well as homegrown systems. ViewDirect Total Content Integrator is a component of the ViewDirect TCM suite of total content management solutions, including Web site, digital asset and document management; workflow and imaging; Internet presentment and payment; records management; and enterprise report distribution. ViewDirect Total Content Integrator uses SOAP over HTTP/SSL to access remote repositories and APIs across firewalls. It is interoperable with Sun ONE and Microsoft.Net. The product features out-of-the-box connectors that understand the structure of the content source, an intelligent dictionary mapping service that resolves the relationship between data in disparate repositories, and Web services for distributed searching, user profiling, content retrieval and automatic content presentment. Context Media, Inc. announced the integration of its Interchange Suite enterprise content integration software with Adobe Graphics Server 2.0. Adobe Graphics Server, which automates the creation and repurposing of graphics for print and the Web, is integrated directly with Interchange Suite’s Web services-based Integration Console. The integration of the two solutions will help customers reduce the time and costs of finding, creating, storing and accessing enterprise content and digital images. Context Media also announced its support for Adobe XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform). Adobe’s XML-based XMP framework provides a standard for the creation, processing and exchange of metadata across publishing workflows. Context Media, Inc. announced the integration of the Context Media Interchange Suite with Sun Microsystems’ Sun ONE Portal Server 6. Additionally, Context Media announced that it has joined the iForce Content Network, a Sun Microsystems’ initiative that provides the tools, resources and services for ISV, SI and reseller partners to build, deploy and market content and knowledge management solutions on the Sun platform. Interchange Suite and the Sun One Portal Server utilize Web services in order to provide secure access and management of all forms of enterprise content, including rich media, text files, and structured data. The combination of the solutions allows businesses to aggregate digital content stored in multiple repositories and systems around an enterprise and present it to users through a single interface. The Sun ONE Portal Server serves as the primary interface and presentation layer through which individual users access and view the content. Venetica announced a major release of VeniceBridge. The new release will increase the types of content repositories that can be integrated with enterprise applications through VeniceBridge’s single, bi-directional interface. VeniceBridge 5.0 will expand its universal view to include a common inbox to workflow engines such as Documentum and FileNET, and independent BPM engines such as MQSeries Workflow. Target engines also include BizTalk, Open Text, and Staffware. VeniceBridge 5.0 will also make statements, invoices and other information stored in enterprise report management (ERM) systems available. Target ERM systems include IBM OnDemand, Mobius ViewDirect and FileNET Panagon Report Manager. The release includes an event subscription model that can provide notification when a document or workflow change has been made. VeniceBridge will extend the current interface with higher-level, document-oriented web services transactions. VeniceBridge 5.0 will also provide new features for handling geographically dispersed content sources and extremely large content such as audio, video and high-resolution images.
