Inxight Software, Inc. announced that it has completed its purchase of the federated search and alert technology product line, formerly called Enterprise Discovery Suite, from Intelliseek, Inc. The product line has been renamed Inxight SmartDiscovery Awareness Server. Inxight SmartDiscovery Awareness Server helps users derive insight and intelligence from hundreds of information sources through a single interface. Alerts automatically inform users of new and updated information. SmartDiscovery Awareness Server is preconfigured out-of-the-box to search and track relevant data from hundreds of online sources, including deep web sources such as patent databases and SEC filings and public web sources such as CNET and MSN Search. Enterprises can also create brokers to new information sources rapidly through a point-and-click interface, extending the searching and alerting capabilities to a wide-range of subscription and enterprise sources. Inxight SmartDiscovery Awareness Server is generally available now.

Xythos Software announced that Oracle has licensed the Xythos Drive to enhance integration between the Windows desktop and the Oracle server products. The Xythos Drive provides folder-level access and management control to simplify how users interact with application content, even when they are not connected to the Internet. In addition, Xythos technology allows developers to make content management and collaboration instantly familiar, helping everyday users easily access new web-enabled applications. With Xythos products, software developers can add WebDAV document and file management capabilities to enhance applications and create new products.
FileNet Corporation introduced the newest version of its Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform, FileNet P8 3.5. FileNet P8 3.5 enables organizations to address a broad range of content, process management and compliance needs. This platform upgrade brings significant new features and capabilities including Content Federation Services (CFS), which enables FileNet P8’s ECM platform capabilities to be integrated with and federate content from a broad range of both FileNet and non-FileNet content repositories. With CFS, FileNet customers can manage all content in their organizations from one enterprise content catalogs. FileNet’s Content Federation Services allows enterprises to search, catalog, classify, secure, retain, comply, activate, update and delete content residing in repositories across the enterprise. CFS enables the FileNet P8 3.5 platform to manage information that is stored in remote content repositories as if it were native FileNet content. This content can also be exposed to external business applications through FileNet’s XML Web Services. Traction Software Inc. announced Release 3.6 of Traction TeamPage, Traction Communicator and its new Traction TeamPage Feed Reader. With help from its new partner, B- Spirit of Switzerland, Traction Software also announced French language localization, in addition to English, German and Japanese. Traction’s TeamPage Release 3.6 includes over 20 new features that focus on content management and security, building on TeamPage’s document management capabilities. TeamPage Feed Reader is a new product that can read RSS or Atom feeds and publish each post into a selected Traction TeamPage project. Each feed can be configured to automatically post attachments and copies of inline images and, on a rules-driven basis, automatically apply selected Traction labels to each incoming article. TeamPage Feed Reader supports authentication and TLS/SSL encrypted HTTPS syndication feeds, as well as public HTTP feeds. TeamPage Feed Reader requires Traction TeamPage Release 3.6 and is a separately priced product. ClearStory Systems announced participation in IBM’s PartnerWorld Industry Networks. ClearStory’s Radiant Enterprise Media Server (EMS), a J2EE software platform for integrating rich media into content management systems and other enterprise applications, will be ported to IBM’s DB2 and WebSphere platforms. Porting Radiant EMS to the IBM platform will also include integration with IBM Content Manager, allowing customers to store digital assets in IBM content repositories. Teaming up with IBM represents an expanded marketing and distribution opportunity for ClearStory and ActiveMedia 6.0. The IBM platform release of Radiant EMS is targeted for general release on June 30, 2005. ClearStory announced general availability of Radiant EMS 2.0 on April 18, 2005 and ActiveMedia 6.0 on May 9, 2005.
Hot Banana Software Inc. has announced the shipping of its new product – the Hot Banana Active Marketing Web Content Management Suite. The Hot Banana Active Marketing Web Content Management Suite consist’s of the Hot Banana Web Content Management Suite, and the Hot Banana Active Marketing Suite. All versions are shipping immediately, either as Hot Banana On Demand, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or, as Hot Banana Licensed Software. Hot Banana Active Marketing Web Content Management Suite will allow non-technical users to take ‘hands-on’ control of their online marketing and communications. All Hot Banana Active Marketing programs and campaigns can now be tracked by using WebTrends 7 On Demand Web analytics to measure results and Web site performance. Improvements to the Web site and marketing activities can then be made, such as tweaking and changing the Web content, so the campaign can be fine tuned, either while it’s in progress, or optimized in preparation for the next scheduled campaign.
Ipedo announced the latest version of its EII platform, incorporating several product enhancements to facilitate delivery of on-demand intelligence. Ipedo XIP 4.0 introduces a dual SQL/XQuery engine, giving it a broad span of information integration. The new release also features several new capabilities designed to reduce the cost and complexity of information integration, including a visual rules processing interface, Web Services publishing, and integration with BusinessObjects and Crystal Reports. In all, Ipedo XIP 4.0 has over 50 new additions and improvements, including enhanced query optimization techniques, new data source discovery and mapping capabilities, and new visual wizards for data import. Ipedo XIP leverages SQL and XML Query to integrate and manage information from disparate, complex data sources to enable real-time business decisions. Ipedo’s approach treats existing corporate databases and external data flows as a single, virtual data source. Arbortext announced the company will release version 5.2 of its enterprise publishing software in September 2005. Representing a year-long development effort, this release has improvements in functionality and compatibility for organizations implementing enterprise publishing applications. The Import/Export feature, which provides conversion between word processing/desktop publishing files and XML, will provide over 50% new functionality and replace Arbortext’s Interchange product. The Import feature will offer much finer control over the conversion of styles into XML tags, so that word processing and desktop publishing files can more easily be translated into XML. The Contributor Web-based XML editor will be able to track changes (additions and deletions) so that editors can review, revise and approve documents more easily. In addition, Contributor will provide an API that provides developers with a greater level of control over the product’s functionality and appearance. DMC (Digital Media Composer) DMC replaces CD-ROM Composer and represents a major upgrade in Arbortext’s capability to publish large sets of documents that are too big to distribute over the internet. DMC can produce both DVDs and CD-ROMs for very large data sets and supports multiple volumes, password security and data compression. http://www.arbortext.com
