Ocelluz AS, a new company with technology for the search market, has publicly
launched with a number of new customers. Founded in 1999, Ocelluz is a privately owned Norwegian company that has been developing its technology in ‘stealth mode’ until today. The company’s technology allows any Enterprise to search for
‘hidden data’ locked inside any SQL (Structured Query Language) database, using a point-and-click interface. Using the Ocelluz technology, it is now possible to search across multiple SQL databases using a ‘type and click’ search box in virtual real-time. Ocelluz technology is immediately available for license.

Endeca and Oculus Info Inc. announced a new technology partnership to bolster Endeca’s search, navigation and analysis products with Oculus’ information visualization capabilities. Starting with Endeca Latitude, Endeca’s new information access and analysis solution, Oculus will provide information visualization to help users analyze and drill into customer, market, sales and other aggregate and transactional data. The combination exposes details and “the big picture” in a single, comprehensible view. As a result, anomalies and patterns in data can be shown that provide insight not possible with tables, dials and dashboards. The combined offering from Endeca and Oculus lets users move through an analysis fluidly, with context. Oculus’ visualization capabilities allow large amounts of complex information to be conveyed in an intuitive, easy to understand, easy to use manner. CYA Technologies, Inc. announced the availability of CYA HOTBackup Enterprise 3.3 which offers support for EMC Documentum Content Server through release 5.3 and adds new enhancements. It augments traditional back-up systems by minimizing the data loss window from days to minutes. PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the Product Development Company, announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Arbortext, Inc. for $190 million in cash. With this acquisition, PTC will enable customers to create, manage and dynamically publish critical information concurrently with the development of related products or services. The transaction is expected to close by the end of July 2005, subject to customary conditions including regulatory approval. The transaction has been approved by Arbortext shareholders. PTC expects the acquisition will be accretive to earnings in fiscal 2006. Arbortext has 250 employees in offices around the world and generated approximately $40 million of revenue during the past 12 months. PTC provides Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software solutions to more than 35,000 companies worldwide. Macromedia, Inc. (Nasdaq:MACR) announced the integration of e-learning products Macromedia Breeze and Macromedia Captivate 1.01, enabling one-click publishing and full tracking of interactive training simulations within Breeze virtual classes and self-paced training courses. Together, Captivate and Breeze can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of software skills instruction, corporate software rollouts, and help-desk applications. Trainers and meeting presenters can control Captivate playback within a Breeze meeting, either reviewing simulations with all participants at the same time or selecting “un-sync” mode to let each participant interact with the simulation independently. Interactions with Captivate simulation quizzes are fully tracked within the Breeze system for reporting or in-depth analysis. Captivate and Breeze content is delivered with Macromedia Flash Player. Content developed with Captivate 1.01 has been tested and certified for SCORM 1.2 and is SCORM 2004 and AICC compliant.
