Content management is a broad topic that refers to the management of unstructured or semi-structured content as a standalone system or a component of another system. Varieties of content management systems (CMS) include: web content management (WCM), enterprise content management (ECM), component content management (CCM), and digital asset management (DAM) systems. Content management systems are also now widely marketed as Digital Experience Management (DEM or DXM, DXP), and Customer Experience Management (CEM or CXM) systems or platforms, and may include additional marketing technology functions.

Kapow Technologies Adapter Gets SAP NetWeaver Certification

Ektron Achieves Gold Certified Partner Status in Microsoft Partner Program

Day Software Unveils Latest Version of Content Repository Extreme CRX

Day Software (SWX:DAYN) (OTC:DYIHY) announced the general availability of Day Content Repository Extreme (CRX) version 1.1, the latest version of Day’s product that enables the storage, management and exchange of content across large-scale enterprises and implements the Content Repository API for Java Technology JCR (JSR 170). Day CRX provides an open, standards-based infrastructure for integrating business applications with any structured or unstructured content in an enterprise. New features in Day CRX enable the exchange of content between applications and repositories. XForms 1.0 Second Edition is a W3C Recommendation

The World Wide Web Consortium has released “XForms 1.0 Second Edition” as a W3C Recommendation. The new generation of Web forms, XForms separate presentation and content, minimize round-trips to the server, offer device independence, and reduce the need for scripting. This second edition adds clarifications and corrects errors as reported in the first edition errata. Canto Announces CanFlow

Canto announced CanFlow, a new product aimed at building complete workflow solutions spanning creative, production and distribution processes around digital assets. At the same time, vertical market solutions built on CanFlow and Cumulus, Canto’s DAM product, and other 3rd-party products will be released. Initial solutions will target the Corporate, Government, Education and Medical sectors. CanFlow is based on an open-source workflow technology that includes a GUI-based workflow builder and an engine that manages the instances of the workflow templates. Workflow templates are created in XML. The workflow engine uses MySQL as its database. The CanFlow-based solutions will ship with pre-configured workflow templates, but consultants and system integrators can fine-tune these templates to specific customer needs. CanFlow 1.0 will be tightly integrated with Cumulus, Canto’s DAM solution. Users of the system will benefit from automatic notifications, a dashboard listing their tasks and important details, and asset access. Project managers and “customers” of the solution will benefit from a Web-based management user interface. The various solutions currently developed by Canto will also integrate with selected 3rd party products. The CanFlow product is scheduled to ship in June 2006. A 10-user license will be available at $8,995. Vertical market solutions will start shipping in June 2006. Infostoria Launches Content Integration Suite

Infostoria Inc. announced general availability of its Content Integration Suite. The suite lets companies bring together people from different groups and business critical content from different sources. With help of the integration suite, companies in media, publishing, advertising, and financial services can implement content driven business processes that span organizational and system boundaries.
