Justsystems Inc. announced the release of xfy Enterprise Solution 1.0, an integrated development and runtime environment for enterprise XML applications. Justsystems plans to release the product in June 2006. xfy Enterprise Solution 1.0 helps application developers create user interfaces for service-oriented architectures (SOA) and web services. xfy Enterprise Solution 1.0 also allows end users to optimize workflow through an easy interface for the rapid development of customized applications. xfy Enterprise Solution 1.0 combines an XML document creation and editing environment; an application execution environment; and an application development platform for business. Built around the xfy Enterprise Client Runtime, the xfy Enterprise Solution suite also includes xfy View Generator 1.0 for automatically creating xfy components from existing XML schema, XSLT support, xfy View Designer 1.0 for creating an interactive display, and xfy Developer’s Toolkit 1.0. In addition, xfy Enterprise Solution 1.0 introduces xfy Server 1.0 to manage client components and user authentication, enabling businesses to re-use components. Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) and Satyam Computer Services Ltd. (NYSE:SAY) announced the Intelligent Statements solution for financial services organizations. Now, banks and other financial institutions can use intelligent bank and credit card e-statements for more secure and cost-effective delivery of highly targeted, personalized communications. Based on Adobe LiveCycle software and developed and distributed by Satyam, the Intelligent Statements solution enables banks and other financial institutions to add transaction-level intelligence to electronic statements, which are batch-processed and delivered to customers in Adobe PDF. Using Adobe Reader customers can view and interact with these statements for transactions such as updating personal information, disputing an erroneous transaction, or taking advantage of a special offer. Once the customer clicks the submit button, the data is protected and automatically sent back to the institution’s core systems for processing. Additionally, the statement can be saved to a local hard drive for completion or submission at a later time. Adobe LiveCycle software makes it easier for financial services organizations to more effectively create and deliver information by combining the business logic and data exchange capabilities of XML with the visual fidelity and security features of Adobe PDF. Pound Hill Software announced MetaGrove, an integrated suite of software tools for Adobe’s Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP). The toolkit consists of MetaGrove Developer, MetaGrove Plug-ins for Adobe’s Creative Suite, and MetaGrove XTension for QuarkXPress. Available for Windows and Mac, MetaGrove provides for standardized cross-platform and cross-application metadata consistency, server-based support for controlled vocabularies, and the ability to automatically enforce corporate and departmental standards. MetaGrove Developer provides a drag-and-drop environment for initial setup by the organization’s data expert. It defines the metadata to be embedded in digital assets and the look and feel of the user dialogs used to collect the data. Features such as auto-complete, tool tips, validation, thumbnail support, and dynamic server support ensure complete and accurate metadata tagging.
