Inxight Offers Free Download of Search Extender for Google Desktop
10/2/2006
Inxight Software, Inc. announced that it is now offering a free download of its Inxight Search Extender for Google Desktop software to help users leverage Inxight's entity extraction and natural-language processing to enhance the Google Desktop search experience. Information that users are seeking is often hidden in the hundreds of pages of "most relevant" documents in a search query. Inxight Search Extender for Google Desktop allows users to see at-a-glance and filter search results sets by the relevant people, companies, products and other information contained within them. Using Inxight's extraction technology, Inxight Search Extender for Google Desktop is an easy-to-install Microsoft .NET application that helps users find documents faster and locate hidden information in document sets, email and presentations. Search Extender gives users better summaries, allows them to see filter search result sets by the relevant people, companies, products and other information contained within them, and makes it easier to navigate through long documents. Search results from Google Desktop are automatically clustered on-the-fly, enabling users to filter their results sets by the people, companies, places, concepts and other information contained within them. Keyword-in-context summaries are enhanced by an automated "Top Mentions" list, revealing the most important people, places, companies and other information contained within the full text of a document. An automated document index makes it easy to see what key information is contained within documents, such as that one mention of a potential new competitor in a large PDF file, a certain version of a presentation, or a relevant phone number within a long email thread.
