Day Software (SWX:DAYN)(OTC:DYIHY) announced the general availability of Day Content Repository Extreme (CRX) Standard (SE) and Developer (DE) Editions, two new versions of its recently launched product that enables the storage, management and exchange of content across small, medium and large-scale enterprises. Day CRX Developer Edition includes a set of content services commonly required by content-centric applications and an optimal structure for fine and coarse-grained content storage and retrieval. The CRX Developer Edition includes all of the features, capabilities and tools available in the CRX Enterprise Edition. CRX Developer Edition is limited to one user for development, testing and demonstration purposes. Day CRX Standard Edition is a repository solution for small and medium-sized business environments or enterprise departments running content-centric applications that are built on top of a Java content repository. The CRX Standard Edition is compatible with the CRX Enterprise Edition to support growing usage, availability and interoperability requirements. Day CRX Standard Edition is available on single and dual processor servers. A 30-day trial version of CRX Developer Edition and Standard Edition can be downloaded, and a subscription license for the CRX Developer Edition can be purchased from the Day Online-Shop and includes a one year license which is valid for updates and online self-help support.

Macromedia, Inc. (Nasdaq:MACR) announced the integration of e-learning products Macromedia Breeze and Macromedia Captivate 1.01, enabling one-click publishing and full tracking of interactive training simulations within Breeze virtual classes and self-paced training courses. Together, Captivate and Breeze can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of software skills instruction, corporate software rollouts, and help-desk applications. Trainers and meeting presenters can control Captivate playback within a Breeze meeting, either reviewing simulations with all participants at the same time or selecting “un-sync” mode to let each participant interact with the simulation independently. Interactions with Captivate simulation quizzes are fully tracked within the Breeze system for reporting or in-depth analysis. Captivate and Breeze content is delivered with Macromedia Flash Player. Content developed with Captivate 1.01 has been tested and certified for SCORM 1.2 and is SCORM 2004 and AICC compliant. In addition, Breeze exports content to learning management systems using AICC, SCORM 1.2, or SCORM 2004. Astoria Software announced Astoria XML Content Management Platform Version 4.4, adding new features for the publishing of large, complex documents that are changed often, such as technical service documents for medical equipment and flight operations manuals for airplanes. Among the new capabilities of Astoria Version 4.4 are expanded wide area network (WAN) capabilities for more robust support of networked and remote users, greater scalability to accommodate the largest XML documents, and expanded support for flight operations and airline maintenance applications in the commercial aerospace market. A new Table of Contents feature has been added that allows for large XML documents and content to be initially displayed as a table of contents, with links to full content. Large documents with numerous graphics or image files can now be managed more easily with a new feature that tracks changes to graphic files regardless of changes made to written content. New reporting capabilities validate cross-references across documents, and XML import features for WAN users can automatically include importing of reference graphics. There is a new SOAP-based dialog for reviewing and navigating Astoria Annotations within the Astoria Web Client and the WAN Bridge for Epic Editor, and new support for Blast Radius XMetaL 4.5 ActiveX for XML editing complementing support for Arbortext XmetaL 4.5 Author, Epic Editor 5.1 and Adobe FrameMaker 7.1. Book Level Administrator, a key component of Astoria for Aerospace, has been enhanced to simplify book updates by using Astoria Workbench, a new user interface based on Eclipse, an open source integrated development environment (IDE). The Astoria Content Management Platform 4.4 now supports the Apache Web Server and Citrix MetaFrame. ATG (Art Technology Group, NASDAQ: ARTG) announced that it has enhanced ATG Commerce, its commerce and marketing engine, with integrated catalog search. ATG is now leveraging the natural language search technology acquired from Primus to enable integrated, natural language catalog search to allow end users to more quickly and intuitively get to products. With this new capability, which will be available as a part of ATG Commerce 7.1 and requires the purchase of the ATG Search engine, any changes companies make in their ATG Commerce catalog will now automatically update their ATG Search function, with no manual catalog/search integration required.
