Fios & Interwoven to Deliver Discovery Management Solution

Fios Inc., a provider of IT-enabled electronic discovery services, and Interwoven announced a strategic partnership that will result in a discovery management solution for the enterprise. Under the agreement, Fios will OEM and integrate Interwoven’s Collaborative Document Management (CDM) technology as the foundation of its evidence management services. Additionally, FIOS will serve as a preferred partner to meet the electronic discovery needs of Interwoven’s installed client base. Together, the two companies will help enterprises proactively address the fire drills, litigation risk and cost predictability issues caused by the growing volume of electronic documents that must be managed and easily accessed for government investigations, regulatory compliance, antitrust inquiries and litigation. ,

Interwoven Announces Salesforce Productivity Intranet & Channel Extranet

Interwoven announced two new content-centric solutions, the Interwoven Salesforce Productivity Intranet, and Channel Extranet, designed to help marketing organizations within the financial services, manufacturing and high technology industries to achieve sales and channel optimization. The new Interwoven Salesforce Productivity Intranet solution enables marketing organizations to provide sales personnel with the latest, most compelling information and sales tools even in the context of rapidly changing markets and campaigns, while the Interwoven Channel Extranet solution enables sales and marketing executives to make the channel a more seamless and effective extension of the internal sales organization. CM Professionals Announces Management Committee & Executive Director

Content Management Professionals (CM Pros), the international content management community of practice, today announced the appointment of its Management Committee and new Executive Director, reinforcing the organization’s increasing relevance to the content management discipline. McLaren Updates Enterprise Engineer for EMC Documentum Platform

McLaren Software announced the immediate availability of its Enterprise Engineer 2.5.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1) upgrade for the EMC Documentum platform. Enterprise Engineer 2.5.1 SP1 is the first of McLaren’s software updates for Documentum, providing improved functionality, streamlining content management processes and enabling enhanced platform support across the entire Enterprise Engineer suite. This includes: Faster import of AutoCAD and MicroStation drawings; Streamlined review and lifecycle processes incorporating feedback from customers; Multi-line text boxes and dialogs enabling more information to be recorded and stored, aiding the creation of audit trails; Extended CAD support including full reference handling; New platform support for Windows Server 2003 and Documentum 5.3 and 5.2.5 SP2 and SP3; and Support for AutoCAD 2006 and MicroStation 8.5. Enterprise Engineer is a suite of configurable business applications that manage engineering content and the business processes that use this content. The software supports the engineering process by providing a single point of controlled access to manage the production and use of project content, such as drawings, correspondence, procedures and specifications, throughout an asset’s lifecycle. Ipedo Partners with Business Objects

Ipedo announced the signing of a technology partnership with Business Objects. Ipedo will join the Business Objects Technology Partner Program and the two companies will engage in joint sales, marketing and development activities. Ipedo will support BusinessObjects XI, Crystal Reports XI, and BusinessObjects Data Integrator XI, giving Business Objects customers integration capabilities that will unify distributed data sources and allow the addition of new data sources into existing applications. The Ipedo XIP platform brings EII capabilities to Business Objects customers, including cost-based query optimization, visual data source discovery, and rule processing on inbound data flows. Ipedo XIP complements the extract, transform, and load (ETL) capabilities of BusinessObjects Data Integrator XI by providing real-time data gathering and cross-source data combinations. Ricoh Announces Enhancements to DocumentMall

Ricoh Corporation introduced enhancements to DocumentMall, a Web-based solution that enables corporations to store, manage and share files through the Internet. The upgrades to this on-demand document management and collaboration software service enable DocumentMall to meet the needs of a wider range of customers, from the high-volume customer to the casual customer. Ricoh has integrated the Upload Agent, a high volume input solution that automates the process of getting documents into DocumentMall. The Upload Agent is a client application that accepts scanned documents and indexing data (XML metadata) from third-party capture solutions and delivers them via a secure HTTPS connection to a DocumentMall account. Upload Agent runs as a scheduled service so uploads can be processed during non-peak hours when network traffic is light. There are no limits on the file size when using DocumentMall’s Upload Agent. Ricoh also announced that Upload Agent integrations are now available for InputAccel and InputAccel Express from Captiva Software Corporation, GobyCapture from DocuLex, and Ascent Capture from Kofax. Ricoh has enhanced DocumentMall’s integrated Barcode Service with improvements to the usability of the user-interface and the incorporation of security upgrades via user access controls. Captiva to Acquire SWT

Captiva Software Corporation announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire SWT SA, a provider of automatic data extraction and intelligent document capture solutions and technology in France. The purchase, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to be completed during the week of May 23, 2005. According to the agreement and subject to certain adjustments, Captiva will pay approximately $18.1 million in cash plus approximately 179,000 shares in Captiva common stock that will be issued to SWT management to purchase all outstanding shares of the privately held SWT. Net of SWT’s cash, the purchase price is expected to be approximately two times SWT’s reported 2004 European GAAP revenues of EUR 6.95 million, or approximtely $9.0 million. SWT has been supplying its Dispatcher product capabilities as an optional addition to Captiva’s InputAccel and classification and data extraction capabilities for Captiva’s Digital Mailroom. ,
