Gauss Launches VIP Enterprise 8

Gauss announced the worldwide availability of VIP Enterprise 8, the company’s Enterprise Content Management (ECM) suite. Gauss invested 16 months and $20 million to unify Web content management and portal development technologies with document management and process automation workflow capabilities. TIBCO Software Inc. announced the TIBCO ActivePortal 3. This new version is a framework for allowing employees, customers, vendors and business partners to interact directly with underlying business processes and systems. The TIBCO ActivePortal 3 platform enables companies to develop and deploy enterprise portals, providing visibility to critical corporate data, such as inventory, sales data and customer service information through wired and wireless connections. KVS Announces Enterprise Vault Support for SharePoint

KVS Inc. announced plans to support and optimize Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server (SPS) through their Enterprise Vault. Enterprise Vault will provide long-term management of corporate assets stored on SPS. SharePoint Portal Server allows project or workgroup teams to benefit from collaborative document sharing, management and publishing capabilities over the Internet. Enterprise Vault for SPS will give SharePoint customers the means to archive, protect and manage proprietary information for long-term retention and optimal performance of the SPS environment. Enterprise Vault performs as a knowledge backbone to Exchange systems, and now SharePoint Portal Server, by providing a secure, centralized archiving service for those systems while easing their storage burden. Plumtree Releases Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5

Plumtree Software released the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5, which broadens Plumtree’s Internet architecture to search multiple content indexes in parallel, extends single sign-on to the applications integrated in the portal, and delivers Gadget Web Services to wireless devices. The Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5 also features a more efficient, intuitive user interface. The Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5 supports single sign-on technologies from IBM’s Tivoli Systems, Netegrity and Oblix. With the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5, Plumtree extends the Internet architecture from application integration to search. The new platform uses SOAP to communicate search commands via HTTP in parallel to search engines running on any platform, anywhere on the Internet. Plumtree’s new Internet architecture for network search will be able to incorporate results from AltaVista Internet Search (both Web and multimedia), Inktomi, Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server and other content indexes. The Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5 features the Plumtree Wireless Device Server, which distributes Gadget content and services to wireless devices, such as mobile telephones, wirelessly enabled Palm handheld computers, Pocket PC-based personal digital assistants, BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds, and other handheld computers. OnePage Introduces OnePage Content Connect Studio

OnePage, Inc. introduced OnePage Content Connect Studio, a new software solution for creating, managing and integrating portlets into corporate portal platforms. Using OnePage Content Connect Studio, organizations are able to rapidly create portlets from HTML Pages, databases, datafeeds, applications and flat files. Once created, the portlets can easily be published into any existing enterprise portal or wireless solution, or to web services UDDI. OnePage Content Connect Studio combines technology with an intuitive user-interface that enables companies to eliminate the manual scraping and scripting processes that currently slow down and add to the expense of any portal implementation. It also includes management and monitoring tools, as well as intelligent agents that create alerts and trigger actions, such as error recovery. Documentum Introduces eContent Services for Portals

Documentum introduced Documentum eContent Services for Portals, the portal-specific deliverable of their recently-announced Documentum Web services initiative. Documentum eContent Services for Portals reduce the need to create new programming interfaces and integration code for enterprise portal implementation. Building on the Documentum 4i eBusiness Platform, these services employ Documentum eContent Portlets to create a way to expose content management functionality through an enterprise portal. Documentum has pre-packaged the most significant and common content management functions, such as content contribution, browsing, and workflow management. These services, called eContent Portlets, will be delivered as Java Server pages, Java classes, and XML files to be exposed through the portal interface. Documentum will offer a Portal Integration Kit to guide portal builders who will integrate Documentum eContent Portlets with portal deployments. Portal providers will leverage Documentum eContent Services for Portals.
