Finjan Acquires Alchemedia

Finjan Software announced that it has acquired the assets and intellectual property of Alchemedia Technologies. Alchemedia’s complementary product offerings will provide customers with enhanced functionality to meet their content security needs. Alchemedia is a provider of Enterprise Digital Rights Management (EDRM) software to the automotive, energy, pharmaceutical, aerospace, financial services and government markets. Customers will have greater proactive security control over their mission critical content. Finjan purchased all of Alchemedia’s intellectual property and assets, including operating assets, property and customers. The core asset of the acquisition was Alchemedia’s product, Mirage Enterprise 3.1, which enables users to view and collaborate on documents while the data included in those documents is shielded from all avenues of digital redistribution. www.finjan.com

Mirror Image Launches instaContent Stream

Mirror Image Internet announced the availability of instaContent Stream, the newest edition to the company’s suite of instaContent Global Distribution Services. The enhanced instaContent Stream offering provides multimedia management and delivery capabilities that enable users to publish, manage, deliver and analyze high-quality multimedia presentations. By leveraging Mirror Image’s Content Access Point (CAP) network to regionally store and deliver multimedia, instaContent Stream provides businesses with the ability to deliver rich, continuous multimedia to users, regardless of location or Web traffic fluctuations. Atomz Announces Mac Editing Support

Atomz announced that a Web site content editor is now available for the Macintosh platform, allowing Macintosh users to contribute content to their company Web sites using Atomz Publish. Atomz said the WYSIWYG Rich Text Editing Interface is now a standard option for all Atomz Publish customers. With the addition of Macintosh support, Atomz Publish customers can now support end users who use either Macintosh, Windows, or both. For example, content authors could use their Macintosh at home and then their Windows PC at the office to contribute or edit content. Customers can use: the Macintosh WYSIWYG Rich Text Editing Interface designed for Internet Explorer 5.2 and higher on Mac OS X v10.2; a Windows WYSIWYG Rich Text Editing Interface; a free-form HTML editing interface; and a text-Only content contribution field. www.atomz.com

RealObjects Releases edit-on Pro 3.0

RealObjects released their latest WYSIWYG Java applet editor, edit-on Pro 3.0. edit-on Pro 3.0 offers an improved spectrum of on-line editing functions, to make the process of updating professional web material more dynamic. The new edit-on Pro 3.0 offers the following feature enhancements: Support of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Creation and editing of style sheets, API for import/export of styles and style sheets, Support for read-only elements and read-only areas, editing of template-based documents, Custom XML tags, Native XHTML data format, filtering of imported or pasted HTML-Code via TIDY from W3C (on client or server), Support of ALIGN attribute, e.g. text will flow around images, Redo/Undo and Search/Replace functions, Copy/Paste of rich text format from Microsoft Word, Excel (tables) and IE – only when using the SUN JRE 1.4.1 on Windows platform. This feature can be enabled/disabled using a parameter, LiveConnect emulation for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, and more. edit-on Pro ActiveX add-on available as an option, i.e. edit-on Pro 3.0 functionality based on Microsoft’s IE DHTML editing control. Nstein & Gale Announce Partnership

Nstein Technologies Inc. and Gale announced an agreement to provide Gale’s subject taxonomy through Nstein’s automated indexing software. This agreement will enhance content search and retrieval services and extend market reach for both companies in many domains, including: business/financial services, law, medicine and health, technology, and social sciences. Gale’s 70,000 node subject taxonomy will be pre-packaged within Nstein’s Intelligent Categorizer and Nfinder automated indexing and search tools. Atomz Enhances Atomz Publish & Search

Atomz announced enhancements to its enterprise Web content management solution, Atomz Publish, and Web site search application, Atomz Search. Atomz Search can now crawl and index Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel file formats. Visitors at Web sites that use Atomz Search will be able to see and directly access Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents from within the search results. In addition, Atomz Search customers can utilize the Metadata Management Interface to associate metadata with Microsoft Office documents and control the positioning of these documents within the search results. Search now provides support for Korean language searching, including a dictionary and full character set encodings. Search customers can now create scripts that modify content between when it is crawled and when it is indexed. Atomz added tags that allow Atomz Publish customers to incorporate non-HTML content such as JavaScript, PHP and ASP code; to define values (including text, HTML or nested Atomz Publish tags) which may be reused anywhere on templated pages; and to display content conditionally depending on the mode Atomz Publish is in: Edit, Preview or Publish.
