Is it me, or does this interview make EMC CEO Joe Tucci seem completely uninterested in Documentum?

Indeed. It does sound that way. And this would conflict with the conventional but still correct wisdom that the storage market players need to add software value to avoid the unappetizing (to put it mildly) prospect of serious commoditization. Tucci is answering based on today’s relative revenue splits, and doing the big guy positioning, but I’ll bet (and would hope) he would agree with the strategic importance of software like Documentum’s.
