Context Media and Avaltus Partner for E-Learning Solution

Context Media, Inc. and Avaltus, Inc. announced a new partnership agreement in
which the companies have paired to offer an end-to-end solution for the management and distribution of e-learning content. The combined solution will support the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) initiative, which provides a standard to enable the interoperability of learning materials online.

BEA Announces Availability of BEA WebLogic Portal 4.0 & 66 Partners

BEA Systems, Inc. announced the availability of BEA WebLogic Portal 4.0 and BEA WebLogic Integration 2.1. The new products are designed to simplify the development, integration and presentation of applications, systems, and business processes spanning an enterprise’s employees, customers, and partners. BEA also announced the BEA Portal Star Solution, BEA Portlet Gallery and more than 65 partners supporting BEA WebLogic Portal and BEA WebLogic Integration.
In a separate BEA announcement, the BEA Portal Star Solution is now available, with 66 partners initially committed to join. This BEA partner initiative is designed for partners who want to build application portlets for BEA WebLogic Portal 4.0, integrate their applications to BEA WebLogic Portal 4.0, or develop consulting practices around the product. With Portal Star Solution partners, customers will be able to create portals with pre-integrated partner solutions for content management, search, syndicated content, security, collaboration, and analytics. Ipedo Releases XML Database 2.0

Context Media Unveils SMIL Authoring Application

Context Media, Inc. announced the introduction of a Web authoring application called iBuilder. iBuilder makes it easy to access and use shared content in, multimedia Web presentations. iBuilder is a SMIL (Synchronous Multimedia Integration Language) authoring application that gives Web developers and authors the ability to synchronize video, text, animation and audio content and specify exactly when and how those elements are presented. SMIL presentations can be played by: RealPlayer 8 by RealNetworks; QuickTime 4.1 by Apple; the GRiNS player by Oratrix; and many others which are listed at the W3C SMIL Website. SMIL is an XML-based layout format that specifies the playback of any combination of multiple media types over the Internet.
