IBM Corporation and Inktomi Corp. announced an agreement to provide enterprise content delivery network (eCDN) technology. The solution is designed to enable enterprises to manage and distribute mission-critical business applications, such as ERP, CRM, content management, enterprise portal, and streaming media, including webcasting, e-learning, and corporate communications. Enterprises and service providers can use Inktomi technology running on IBM’s eServer xSeries systems to help overcome network congestion without adding bandwidth and router upgrades. FileNET Corp. announced the general availability of FileNET Web Content Management (WCM – the acquired eGrail technology) with integration to the company’s Panagon platform. The solution is aimed at streamlining the Web-based development and management of digital content for Web sites, including content that resides in FileNET Panagon repositories. FileNET WCM allows for collaborative authoring so that one or more persons can update Web content, while significantly reducing the workload for the Webmaster. New FileNET customers can deploy FileNET WCM as a standalone solution to meet their immediate Web content needs, while also having the ability to add subsequent Enterprise Content Management solutions easily. Citrix Systems, Inc. announced the details of general availability and pricing for Citrix NFuse Elite, its access portal server. As a simple access portal, NFuse Elite gives users secure, point-and-click access to their own personalized set of applications and content while administrators get the ease and convenience of centralized portal management. Internet Expressions, Inc., (IEXP) announced the availability of version 3.5 of its FastPage web-based content management tool. Version 3.5’s web-based administration tools give site administrators the ability to create and edit pages using customizable templates, assign user edit permissions, define portions of pages that are allowed to be edited, and define content format. Site administrators can give permissions to users to edit specific pages, create new pages from templates on-demand, upload images, media files and edit rich textual

Three OASIS Committee Specifications, Directory Services Markup Language (DSML) v2, ebXML Registry Service (RS) v2, and ebXML Registry Information Model (RIM) v2, have passed final approval by the OASIS membership at-large to gain official status as OASIS Standards. Each of these new standards have been approved by their respective OASIS technical committees, implemented by a minimum of three organizations, completed a 90-day review, and passed a final vote from the OASIS membership at-large. ebXML RS and ebXML RIM allow information to be shared between interested parties through common registries. Members of the OASIS ebXML Registry Technical Committee include Boeing, Intel, IONA, Logistics Management Institute, NIST, Sterling Commerce, Sun Microsystems, Vitria Technology, and others.
