Adobe Buys GoLive Systems

Adobe Systems Inc. has acquired the assets of GoLive Systems Inc., a privately-held company whose products include the GoLive CyberStudio professional Web publishing software. The acquisition gives Adobe a professional Web publishing platform to market alongside its graphics and imaging software. The acquisition also brings a number of high-profile clients, such as Aware Records, Music Boulevard, Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. Records, The Associated Press, NuSkin, MTV Networks, Virgin Records, The Chicago Tribune, Apple Computer and Iomega Corporation. www.adobe.com

Object Design Announces Free Beta of XML Data Server

Object Design, Inc. today announced that the beta software for its eXcelon XML data server is now available free-of-charge from the company’s Web site at (www.objectdesign.com). eXcelon is an XML data server that enables companies to build Web applications using XML. eXcelon can be used as an XML application cache for existing data sources, or as a data management system for new XML-based applications.
