iPhrase Announces OneStep 5.0

Captiva to Acquire SWT

Captiva Software Corporation announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire SWT SA, a provider of automatic data extraction and intelligent document capture solutions and technology in France. The purchase, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to be completed during the week of May 23, 2005. According to the agreement and subject to certain adjustments, Captiva will pay approximately $18.1 million in cash plus approximately 179,000 shares in Captiva common stock that will be issued to SWT management to purchase all outstanding shares of the privately held SWT. Net of SWT’s cash, the purchase price is expected to be approximately two times SWT’s reported 2004 European GAAP revenues of EUR 6.95 million, or approximtely $9.0 million. SWT has been supplying its Dispatcher product capabilities as an optional addition to Captiva’s InputAccel and classification and data extraction capabilities for Captiva’s Digital Mailroom. ,

EMC Delivers Content Addressed Storage for Midsize Enterprises

EMC Corporation expanded the EMC Centera family of content addressed storage (CAS) systems to address the fixed content archiving needs of midsize enterprises. As an extension of EMC’s Making Storage Simple approach, the lower-capacity and lower-cost EMC Centera four-node configuration delivers the same content and self management features available in all Centera configurations. A key part of Making Storage Simple is a broad set of Express Solutions that are pretested and sized to meet the needs of this market. The new Centera configuration will be integrated into these solutions. For example, the EMC Express Solutions for Archiving and Express Solutions for E-mail, which combine EMC systems, software and services are now available with the new Centera four-node configuration. The Centera four-node configuration will be available from EMC and partners this month. Quadralay Launches WebWorks ePublisher Pro

Quadralay Corporation announced the launch of WebWorks ePublisher Pro. The new desktop ePublishing software leverages XML and allows users to create customized content for the Web, intranets, professional online Help systems, portable devices, enterprise-ready XML, or PDFs. WebWorks ePublisher Pro provides greater flexibility and ease of use for Help authors, technical writers, documentation professionals, and other content providers wanting to produce content for common online formats directly from Microsoft Word or Adobe FrameMaker files. In addition, the new software features simple WYSIWYG controls and push-button processing that give authors control of the look and feel of Help content and other online information. ClearStory Announces Release of ActiveMedia 6.0

ClearStory Systems, Inc. announced the release of ActiveMedia 6.0, a J2EE digital asset management (DAM) software application. ActiveMedia 6.0 is built on ClearStory’s Radiant Enterprise Media Server (EMS). ActiveMedia 6.0 offers handling of compound documents such as QuarkXpress and Adobe InDesign, as well as video, flash, presentations, and graphics. ActiveMedia 6.0 offers an n-tier, J2EE design that supports the scalability requirements of modern DAM implementations. Its Web-based user interface offers rich functionality to support global marketing implementations. Enhanced features include a metadata engine, a robust asset-level security model, and functionality for managing complex video, multi-media graphics, compound documents and other rich media.

took place in Boston during the week of April 25, are now available at .
Presentations that I found useful included the Tuesday General Track
presentations by Otmar Winzig of Software AG and Elmer Huh of Morgan Stanley, as
well as the Wednesday Plenary Session presentation by José María Roldán of the Committee of
European Banking Supervisors (CEBS).

The XBRL International website also contains a new, updated version of the
XBRL 2.1 specification, along with a newly released conformance suite
. There
are also two new documents
that provide guidance for the construction of XBRL taxonomies. The first is
a recommendation for the Financial Reporting Taxonomies Architecture (FRTA), and
the second is an FRTA conformance suite.
