Interwoven, Inc. (NASDAQ:IWOV) announced that it has acquired Scrittura, a provider of document automation technology and straight-through-processing for the complex non-exchange based trading operations of financial services institutions. The acquisition maps to Interwoven’s strategy to deliver targeted ECM solutions, and positions Interwoven as an ECM provider in the market for trading of non-exchange based financial instruments. As a result of the acquisition, Interwoven now offers a complete solution for the automation of Over-the-Counter (OTC) Derivatives trading. Under the terms of the agreement, Scrittura shareholders will receive initial cash consideration of approximately $16.3 million and up to $2.0 million of additional cash consideration if certain revenue and operating contribution goals are achieved by December 31, 2005. In addition, Interwoven will assume certain Scrittura stock options in the acquisition. Designed to enable financial services customers to more quickly and easily conduct complex non-exchange based trades with other financial institutions, the new Interwoven OTC Derivatives solution will provide: business process management; document management; records management; fax and paper capture; and messaging brokering. ClearStory Systems (BULLETIN BOARD: CSYS) announced the release of the Radiant Enterprise Media Server (EMS) 2.1, an enhanced version of its media services platform. The new release builds on the product’s enterprise DAM capability, now offering integration with IBM DB2 Content Manager and expanded standard database support to include IBM DB2 Universal Database, Microsoft SQL Server, and additional versions of Oracle 9i. Radiant EMS is a J2EE system with capabilities for the management of rich media assets – digital video, graphics, multi-media presentations, and compound documents. Integration with IBM DB2 Content Manager allows companies to leverage their existing ECM infrastructure, centralizing all enterprise content while incorporating high value rich media assets into enterprise business processes. Radiant EMS 2.1 is available in both hosted and licensed configurations. It is shipping now.
EMC Corporation announced upgrades to its collaboration offering, EMC Documentum eRoom Enterprise. Documentum eRoom Enterprise 7.3 allows teams to model their critical business processes and eliminates barriers involved with building dynamic, team-based applications. It provides automated “dashboard” capabilities for increased visibility across multiple active project workspaces. It also leverages the EMC Documentum enterprise content management (ECM) platform to ensure that content generated adheres to compliance controls and can be seamlessly shared with other Documentum applications. Instant Messaging (IM) integration enables heightened project awareness and integrated real-time communication through instant messaging for facilitating faster time-to-decisions. Users can leverage their existing IM infrastructure to resolve critical project issues and meet delivery deadlines. Enhanced content server integration delivers improved team efficiencies. Content created or changed in the EMC Documentum Content Server can be automatically synchronized in a new Linked Folder that notifies project teams of new content. Version 7.3 also provides users access to the EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Integration (ECI) Services where search queries can be easily formulated across all relevant information sources. New security features provide selective access to data table records.
