EMC Announces Solutions for Case Management and Document Management

EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC) announced two new enterprise content management (ECM) solutions: A new EMC Documentum Case Management Solution Framework, which accelerates the development of case management applications, and EMC Documentum ApplicationXtender 6 with new modules for workflow and retention management. Case management is a pattern of work commonly used in almost all industries, such as financial services, public sector and healthcare, that requires a group of people to systematically process and collaborate on a case folder that consists of both content and data. The Case Management Solution Framework enables system integrators and application partners as well as internal IT developers to build case management solutions faster. The Case Management Solution Framework includes: pre-integrated technologies utilizing the core capabilities of the EMC Documentum platform, a tutorial that illustrates the creation of  a case management solution, a case management sample application and other best practices covering, application development and deployment, and an Express Install tool which provides single-click installation of all the components needed for case management on a single server.

ApplicationXtender is a departmental document management solution for organizations with limited IT budgets and supporting resources. The solution provides out-of-the box capabilities that allow departments to manage content such as images, documents and reports. Built on a central repository, ApplicationXtender provides capabilities for high-speed image capture and storage and is designed for quick deployment. New features in ApplicationXtender 6 include: A Workflow Manager module for creating departmental workflow solutions designed to improve efficiency in business processes, built on Microsoft .NET, and: A Retention Manager module for applying automatic retention capabilities such as holds, reporting, disposals and audits trails to documents to ensure regulatory compliance. Vignette Releases Community Applications 7.1

Vignette Corporation (NASDAQ: VIGN) announced an enhancement to its Web Experience Platform – Vignette Community Applications 7.1. Day Unveils Integrated Social Collaboration and Digital Asset Management Applications

Day Software (SWX:DAYN) (OTCQX:DYIHY) announced the general availability of its new Communiqué (CQ) 5.2 suite. CQ 5.2 adds new Social Collaboration (SoCo) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) applications that are seamlessly coupled with Day’s Web Content Management (WCM) software. The applications leverage Day’s unified Enterprise Content Management (ECM) content infrastructure platform, CRX. Day Software now enables organizations to advance their social media marketing strategies with media-enriched, interactive online communities powered by CQ 5.2. Day Software’s CQ 5.2 delivers interactive new tools for marketers that both enhance online collaboration and promote the brand. CQ 5.2 now includes drag-and-drop components for interactive marketers to enable user-self registration, profile management, commenting, ratings, tagging, discussions, and blogging to any Web page or Web site while maintaining control with advanced CRX-powered moderation, access control, audit trails and more. CQ 5.2 also provides out-of-the-box components for building wiki pages, enabling RSS feeds, sharing content, applications and social profile information with external social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn. Day Software’s CQ 5.2 DAM provides out-of-the-box lifecycle management services for digital assets, including ingestion, metadata extraction and generation, transformation and rendition management, and online or offline publishing. Xerox DocuShare Announces Two New ECM Offerings

Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) announced two new DocuShare enterprise content management (ECM) offerings. Xerox’s DocuShare Virtual Filing System reduces the need for physical filing cabinets and gives workers immediate access to information. The system includes a document storage assessment, scanning technology, software, set up and user training. Once paper archives are uploaded into the virtual filing system’s drawers, documents can be searched by name, category and type. Xerox also unveiled DocuShare 6.5, an upgrade to its existing version. DocuShare 6.5 can store more than 50 million documents, perform search queries within seconds and supports intake of up to one million imaged documents per day. DocuShare 6.5 is also the software in the Virtual Filing System package. DocuShare Virtual Filing System will be sold in North America through Xerox direct sales starting in June. Select, certified partners will begin to sell the package in July. DocuShare 6.5 is currently available on Windows platforms through Xerox direct sales and resellers in North America. It will be available worldwide and on other platforms starting in June. Customers on a maintenance contract will receive an upgrade to DocuShare 6.5 free of charge. http://docushare.xerox.com

Vignette Announces Vignette Content Management 7.6

Vignette Corporation (NASDAQ: VIGN) announced two additions to its Web content management solution, a core component of the Vignette Web Experience Platform. Vignette Content Management 7.6 gives companies the ability to manage and deliver dynamic content enterprise-wide while offering simplified deployment, configuration and administration. Vignette Content Management 7.6 includes: enhanced business agility with additional flexibility to help companies quickly adjust content templates without relying on IT, and an environment that is easier and less costly to maintain due to reduced administration complexity for static content and simplifications to the publishing process. The Vignette Transfer Tool focuses on ease of administration for technical teams. Zimplit.com Releases Customizable Content Management System

Zimplit.com has released a fully “rebrandable” content management system for companies and organizations who want to provide easily editable webpages for their customers. Customizable means that the entire software interface will be modified to suit customers own branding. Magnolia CMS 4.0 Released

Magnolia International Ltd. announced the immediate availability of Magnolia 4.0. This forth generation of the Java-based content management system introduces production-ready content delivery templates that provide a large set of out-of-the-box functionality. Content delivery is search-engine optimized, follows accessibility guidelines and introduces support for mobile devices. The new Templating Kit allows designers and programmers to quickly and easily build best-practice Web site designs and to control the complete layouting life-cycle. Ready-made XHTML-conformant templates are available for Magnolia 4.0 to create custom Web designs that dynamically adapt  content delivery to various devices, including the iPhone. The standard templates are search engine optimized (SEO) and follow W3C accessibility guidelines. Multiple Web site designs for front- and back-ends can be managed from within Magnolia’s browser-based administration interface. Magnolia 4.0 introduces support for a new templating language called Freemarker in addition to templating in JSP (Java Server Pages). Templating with Freemarker allows to view and edit templates directly in the browser window, have templates under version- and access-control and to backup templates together with the content of a website. The Standard Templating Kit is part of Magnolia’s new Supersonic Template bundle that includes a new form module with newly-added spam protection and server-side field validation. Markzware Releases Publisher-to-InDesign Software for Adobe InDesign CS3 and CS4

Markzware, a developer of data extraction and conversion software and inventor of preflighting, released an upgrade to its conversion tool PUB2ID for InDesign CS3 and CS4. PUB2ID v2 (Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign) is a plug-in that enables users to convert native-application Microsoft Publisher files (MS Publisher versions 2002 through 2007) to Adobe InDesign while preserving the content, as well as the styles and formatting. http://www.markzware.com
