DataChannel’s RIO 3.2 Now on Solaris

DataChannel announced an addition to the Solutions Software component of XMLFramework by releasing RIO 3.2 for Solaris for general availability. RIO, an Enterprise Information Portal (EIP), is the core offering for Solutions Software within DataChannel’s XMLFramework which consists of Solution Software, XMLToolkit, XMLBlueprint, XMLTraining, and XMLServices. RIO 3.2 for the Solaris operation environment extends the functionality of the RIO server. The feature set includes: Extensible Security Architecture, Extended Channel and Folder Capabilities, and Enhanced Content Management. Input Software Forms Alliance with Eastman

Input Software, Inc. announced it has formed a strategic marketing alliance with Eastman Software. As part of this alliance, Input Software’s information capture software product, InputAccel is now integrated and available with the newest release of Eastman Software’s document image management product, Eastman Software Imaging for Windows NT 3.2 via the InputAccel/Export Module. IntraNet Solutions Appoints New CFO

IntraNet Solutions, Inc., announced the appointment of Gregg Waldon to the position of chief financial officer, treasurer and secretary reporting directly to chairman, chief executive officer and president, Robert Olson. Waldon will be responsible for all aspects of financial operations at IntraNet Solutions and will play a key role in strategic planning and expansion of the company’s software business. Microsoft Releases Office 2000 to Manufacturing

Development and testing of Office 2000 is complete and the suite has been released to manufacturing, according to Microsoft. The business software suite is scheduled to be available to volume license customers in April and to retail customers on June 10, 1999. Office 2000 adds extensive web functionality to business software applications, making it easy to use the web to publish and share information. Using any Office 2000 application, people can create documents and easily save them directly to a web server. Hynet Releases Version 2.1

Hynet Technologies announced the release of Hynet Directive 2.1. Hynet Directive is an XML-based electronic publishing product currently being used by financial institutions and high-tech manufacturers to convert documents and easily publish up-to-date information to the Internet and CD-ROM. Directive 2.1 improves ease of use with: the ability to access to the Directive conversion engine via C++, Visual Basic and Java; the ability to easily edit Directive document types; and the ability to edit and reuse existing and/or automatically generated document mapping rules. The Directive conversion engine, which can be purchased separately from the Directive publishing product, provides conversion of Microsoft Word and Adobe FrameMaker documents to HTML or XML. Allegis Corporation Announces Net-It Central 3.5

Allegis Corporation announced that Net-It Central 3.5, has been designed to leverage the new Web publishing features in Microsoft Office 2000. Net-It Central 3.5 takes full advantage of the new HTML publishing capabilities of Office 2000. The product automatically publishes HTML, jDoc or both formats and provides user control over the format published on the company intranet or extranet. This capability is especially critical because the HTML renditions created by Office 2000 require Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher for proper viewing. Interwoven Expands Executive Team

Interwoven,Inc., announced the addition of three new members of the management team: David M. Allen as of chief financial officer, Joe Ruck as vice president of marketing and Jeffrey Engelmann as vice president of business development. Prior to joining Interwoven, Allen was the CFO of Objective Systems Integrators, Inc. Previously,Allen was CFO of Telecommunications Techniques Corporation. Joe Ruck comes to Interwoven from Genesys Corporation, where he served as vice president for customer marketing. Prior to Genesys, Ruck served in various senior sales and marketing capacities at Network Appliance and Sun Microsystems. Prior to joining Interwoven, Engelmann spent nearly ten years at IBM.
