Vignette & Telecom Italia Form Strategic Alliance

Vignette Corp. and Telecom Italia announced a strategic partnership. Combining the Vignette Content Suite V6 and Telecom Italia hosting services, the companies intend to serve the online business needs of the top 2,000 Italian companies. Telecom Italia, through its dedicated cybercenters, will bring to market an offering including broadband access, IP services, Web and application hosting — a complete e-business enabling platform, on which selected system integrators can develop customized solutions. This strategic alliance is focused on the IP outsourcing model, which combines the benefit of the pure ASP model — software as a service, no internally managed infrastructure, better time to market — with the business requirements of corporate customers — service level agreements, business continuity and a dedicated software and hardware infrastructure. Through the partnership with TI’s e-business solution, Vignette Content Suite’s V6 content management applications are being delivered on a hosting basis. www.vignette.com

Glides Teams With Hitext

Glides, Inc. announced a partnership with Hitext S.A. that will enable Hitext to more effectively help their customers manage the multilingual content of their Web sites. When marketing staff use UniSite to update a section of content in the primary language, the software automatically detects the content change and triggers a workflow process that guides content owners (marketing professionals, management etc.) across each of the languages through review, approval and publishing of the updated content. XML-based technology allows translated content to be placed appropriately within the Web site. As a UniSite partner, Hitext’s localization teams will become translation service providers electronically integrated into the workflow system for Web content localization. UniSite Web Center is delivered as a software service so customers pay a low monthly subscription fee for use of UniSite based on the size of their site. www.glides.com, www.hitext.com
