Day Unveils Integrated Social Collaboration and Digital Asset Management Applications

Day Software (SWX:DAYN) (OTCQX:DYIHY) announced the general availability of its new Communiqué (CQ) 5.2 suite. CQ 5.2 adds new Social Collaboration (SoCo) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) applications that are seamlessly coupled with Day’s Web Content Management (WCM) software. The applications leverage Day’s unified Enterprise Content Management (ECM) content infrastructure platform, CRX. Day Software now enables organizations to advance their social media marketing strategies with media-enriched, interactive online communities powered by CQ 5.2. Day Software’s CQ 5.2 delivers interactive new tools for marketers that both enhance online collaboration and promote the brand. CQ 5.2 now includes drag-and-drop components for interactive marketers to enable user-self registration, profile management, commenting, ratings, tagging, discussions, and blogging to any Web page or Web site while maintaining control with advanced CRX-powered moderation, access control, audit trails and more. CQ 5.2 also provides out-of-the-box components for building wiki pages, enabling RSS feeds, sharing content, applications and social profile information with external social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn. Day Software’s CQ 5.2 DAM provides out-of-the-box lifecycle management services for digital assets, including ingestion, metadata extraction and generation, transformation and rendition management, and online or offline publishing. CQ 5.2 is currently available from Day Software.

Day Software Announces Sale of UK Subsidiary MarketingNet Ltd

Day Software (SWX:DAYN)(OTCQX:DYIHY) announced the completion of the sale of MarketingNet Ltd, a UK company active in the agency services business, to WAA Ltd, also a UK company. This sale marks the completion of Day’s efforts to refocus its UK operations on its core business and drive UK expansion through a channel-driven model. Day Software acquired MarketingNet Ltd in October 2000. All existing customers of MarketingNet Ltd will stay with MarketingNet Ltd, which will be owned by WAA Ltd. As a result of the sale completion, Day are anticipating non-cash charges in its 31st December 2008 results relating to Goodwill as well as cash charges relating to discontinuing operations such as leases, staff costs, and legal costs. Day Software’s core operations in the UK carried out by Day Software Ltd are not affected by this announcement.

Day Software Expands Technology Relationship with IBM

Day Software (SWX:DAYN)(OTCQX:DYIHY) has expanded its technology relationship with IBM by joining the IBM ECM ValueNet Partner Program. Day’s Communiqué Web Content Management (CQ WCM) and Communiqué Digital Asset Management (CQ DAM) applications have been integrated with IBM FileNet P8 providing a single comprehensive solution for managing digital content. Day and IBM will work together throughout the implementation process, through training, delivery, feedback and documentation, to provide the most relevant ECM solution for joint customers.

Day Ships Latest Versions of Communiqué and CRX

Day Software (SWX:DAYN)(OTC:DYIHY) announced the availability of Communiqué 4.2 and Content Repository Extreme (CRX) 1.3.1, a native JCR (JSR 170) standard compliant enterprise content management solution and Java Content Repository. These latest releases of Communiqué and CRX contain enhancements that are directed toward an even better usability for authors, administrators, and developers, and improvements in scalability and performance. Specific enhancements include active clustering of author instances, SAP portal integration and synchronization with Day’s connector products providing an easy start to connect to third party repositories by using JCR connectors. Based on the cluster functionality in the CRX 1.3.1 release, Communiqué 4.2 supports active clustering of author instances. With this it is possible to have several Communiqué servers combined to form a cluster and provide one Communiqué Author instance. As an additional language for the user interface, Japanese is now maintained in the product. Portal Adapter for SAP Portal 6.0 allows integration of Communiqué content and functionality into a SAP Portal environment. Out-of-the-box portlets can be used to display Communiqué managed content that is dynamically associated to the iView. Existing Communiqué projects can be migrated “in place” with help of an update installer, leaving the existing deployments and architecture intact.

Day Delivers Connectivity for Microsoft SharePoint

Day Software (SWX:DAYN)(OTC:DYIHY) announced their latest repository connector that are compliant with the Content Repository for Java Technology API standard (JSR 170) is for Microsoft SharePoint. The Microsoft SharePoint connector is part of Day’s Content Integration family of products that enable enterprises to access and manage all organizational content through a standardized API. This technology allows the implementation of content access, synchronization and consolidation even if the content resides in data stores that do not provide a JCR compliant API.
