Content technology industry news without the hype:
I have used nothing but OpenOffice for the last 3 years. I have never looked back. Everything I've done has been completely compatible with MS-Office (except for some occasional issues with the latest .docx format).
I am a big fan of open source and standards, and I highly recommend using OpenOffice.
