Content management is a broad topic that refers to the management of unstructured or semi-structured content as a standalone system or a component of another system. Varieties of content management systems (CMS) include: web content management (WCM), enterprise content management (ECM), component content management (CCM), and digital asset management (DAM) systems. Content management systems are also now widely marketed as Digital Experience Management (DEM or DXM, DXP), and Customer Experience Management (CEM or CXM) systems or platforms, and may include additional marketing technology functions.

Uniform and Algolia partner

Uniform announced a partnership with Algolia. With the new integration, marketers and merchandisers can query Agolia within Uniform Canvas to show either for specific results, such as blog entries or products, or a dynamic range based on a search query. This process uses Algolia to deliver results quickly and can be used with any connected index within Algolia. These results can also be used for testing and personalization using Uniform Context. 

In practice, this means that a Canvas component can be connected to an Algolia index built from a commerce engine, then set to search for either alternative products (e.g., showing alternative brown leather shoes when viewing a product detail page) or complementary products to drive cross-sales (e.g., Brown belts and bags to match the shoes being viewed.) As new products are added to the index, the component automatically adds the most relevant options, to boost conversions without manual work. This can be used to recommend content or tutorials to support marketing use cases. 

With Algolia’s prebuilt front-end component, business users can control the display of search results (pagination, columns, other page content), also the display of the images in the Algolia index without developer support.

Lexalytics expands NLP capabilities across foreign languages

Lexalytics, an InMoment company and provider of AI-based, natural language processing (NLP) technology, announced it has improved accuracy and expanded NLP capabilities for 11 non-English languages. Now global brands and businesses can analyze unstructured data natively and benefit from full-featured text analytics to better understand their customers and make more informed decisions across 31 total languages.

While some companies offer a range of NLP features in languages other than English, few cover the sheer number that Lexalytics supports. Many rely on machine translation before processing which can decrease the accuracy of the analysis. Because Lexalytics processes text data in its native language, it can take into account specific nuances and complexities of that language, and better understand the meaning and context of the text.

Lexalytics has expanded feature coverage to include entities, themes, summarization, sentiment (at the document and item level), categorization, and part-of-speech tagging for the following 11 languages: Arabic, Danish, Finnish, Hebrew, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese. Lexalytics continues to offer full-featured support for an additional 20 languages. These expanded language capabilities are available for customers of Lexalytics’ Salience, Semantria API, and Spotlight application, as well as InMoment’s XI Platform.

Vercel, a cloud platform for frontend developers, together with Sitecore, a global provider of end-to-end digital experience solutions, announced a strategic partnership in response to the needs of brands for a more composable architecture. Bloomreach adds catalog management feature

Bloomreach announced a new feature from Bloomreach Discovery that gives merchandisers greater control over their product catalogs. With Catalog Management, merchandising teams can use business user-friendly tools to configure and manage all product catalogs within their account. Bloomreach Discovery customers now provides all users with the ability to see data import activity and make configuration changes in real time. They are also able to select which data attributes they want to show up in the product feed, ensuring product data is relevant for their business and for customer queries.

The data implementation process for product discovery tools can take time, and often becomes more complicated with larger product catalogs. This can lead to delays in generating value from the tool, as merchandisers have to wait for the implementation process to be completed before they can make changes or customizations to the data. Catalog Management solves for this issue directly by enabling search and merchandising teams to manage the data integration process on their own. NewSpark.io announced a new release of Media Manager, a digital asset management platform. Solodev launches serverless CMS

Solodev announced the launch of Solodev Serverless CMS: a cloud-native enterprise content management system that runs serverless on AWS. Solodev Serverless CMS is fully deployed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is capable of running high-availability workloads.

Solodev Serverless CMS delivers a composable set of cloud-based services to support traditional and headless websites and apps, including Jamstack frameworks like React. Solodev Serverless CMS utilizes container technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate, all instantly deployed on the AWS infrastructure. Solodev Serverless CMS also delivers cloud-first features such as dynamic modules, a drag-and-drop page builder, furl management, and advanced form capabilities, including security and fraud prevention. Solodev Serverless CMS users will also have access to the Solodev Marketplace, featuring hundreds of third-party platforms like Salesforce and cloud services from AWS.

Confluent to acquire Immerok

Confluent, Inc., a data streaming platform, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Immerok. Immerok is a contributor to Apache Flink, a technology for building stream processing applications and a popular Apache open source project. Immerok has developed a cloud-native, fully managed Flink service for customers looking to process data streams at a large scale and to deliver real-time analytical insight. Immerok leadership includes multiple Flink Project Management Committee members and Committers for the open-source technology, and would add extensive stream processing expertise to the Confluent team upon the closing of the transaction.

Confluent plans to accelerate the launch of a fully managed Flink offering that is compatible with its managed Kafka service, Confluent Cloud. Thanks to Flink, Kafka Streams, and ksqlDB offerings available natively on Confluent, customers are expected to soon have access to the three stream processing tools designed specifically to process and enrich data in real time.

Confluent’s initial focus will be to build an Apache Flink service for Confluent Cloud, bringing a cloud-native experience that delivers the same simplicity, security and scalability as Confluent for Kafka.
