Question:
What additional questions would you like us to ask the keynote panel or the analyst panel?
- Is it a reasonable thing for analysts to accept money from the vendors they evaluate?
- How long will we, as content developers and content management professionals, have to wait for tool vendors to get their pieces to interoperate with each other -- since we often buy pieces from each vendor?
- How will the different industry-standard DTDs interoperate -- so I can develop content that can go into training material (using SCORM) but also online help (using MAML) and task documentation (using DITA)? How will these DTDs converge in the enterprise?
- How do the RoboHelp alternatives currently on the market rate for ease of conversion (from RoboHelp) and ease of use from a technical writer's standpoint. Do any of them have end-user features that are real differentiators?
- Thoughts about "tagging" applications, such as de.li.cio.us? Are they appropriate anywhere within a corporate environment?
- The role of XML in Content Delivery and storage
- integration of systems between authoring tools, publishing tools and translation management.
- Question 19 is what I would have written.
- How do you share documents in a collaboration environment where government regulations and your company's own IP policies demand different markings/legends dependent on who is viewing them (suppliers versus government), who owns the data, and how the intellectual property was developed?
- How will content management merge with Web conferencing?
- Open Source seems risky. Is it?
- Has anyone come up with an enterprise digital rights management model that works?
- Why microformats are affecting the management
- Configuration/conditional text capabilities in Content Mamangement/Editor. Configurations of our final product are becoming extremely important, so we will need "configuration dependency" in our Content Management. DITA seems to offer a good start in this area.
- What's the role of help authoring applications (robohelp, flare, authorIT) in the short term future of content management systems?
- How are corporations addressing global customers?
- How to make money from the new interactive web 2.0?
- Do you see the future of eDRM and content management coming together? If so, what will tip the scale?
- I am specifically interested in implementing an enterprise-wide web content management system at a university. I would be interested in hearing if the panel knows of any research that has been done regarding the use of web content management systems by public and/or private institutions of higher education. Thank you!
- Advantages and Disadvantages of using open source CMS solutions versus commercial prodcuts in enterprise environment.
- Will translation and localization affect content management strategies in the next 12-24 months?
- Are there any NLP tools on the horizon that will help me manage the QUALITY of the content that goes into my CMS - ie, the stuff BETWEEN the tags?
- How will translation and localization affect content management strategies in the next 1-2 years?
- How are translation and localization requirements affecting content management strategies and what changes in technology and strategic direction can we expect in next 6 months - 2 years?
- Do you see large-volume content migration as being a significant element of any Web Content Managment Implementation and what best practices are emerging with regards to methods and controls
- When will we see content management applications drive the market for managing unstructured content like we saw with relational data base technology and today's business application market?
- Will basic content management and workflow functions become commodities within the next 12 months?
-
Will basic content management and workflow functions become commodities within the next 12 months?
-
How will language translation requirements affect content management strategies in the next 12-24 months?
-
Is the projected revenue from sales of ECM product licenses bound to increase with the entry of IBM, Microsoft and Oracle? How big or small is the impact likely to be?
-
1) What are some of the top customer uses of ECM products in the market today, and what will be important in 18 months, 3 years and 5 years? 2) What are some of the cool differentiators in terms of the end-user-interfaces being delivered with ECM solutions?
