Curl Inc. announced that it has completed the final phase of its Eclipse development strategy with the general availability release of Curl Development tools for Eclipse (CDE). The CDE is a set of Eclipse plug-ins that provides an environment for developing programs in the Curl language and on the current release of the Curl Rich Internet Application (RIA) Platform, Version 6.0. With the full release of the CDE, programmers can see features of the Curl platform within the Eclipse development environment. The CDE includes a language sensitive editor and search, integration into the Eclipse debugger as well as the Eclipse workspace for Curl projects and preferences, and documentation. Additionally, it also allows Curl program deployment and includes tools such as a VLE extension editor, profiler, code coverage, class browser, inspector and Hypertext Transfer Protocol Overview (HTTP) monitor. NetSuite Inc. announced new capabilities for its CRM product, NetSuite CRM+, featuring AJAX-powered workflows that enhance ease-of-use of marketing automation and knowledge management functionality used in customer support and customer service. These new workflows center around step-wise, user interaction and are now also supported in the new Firefox 3 web browser, along with other capabilities of NetSuite such as eXtreme list editing, rich-text editing, drag-and- drop and quick-add portlets. New features include: Step-wise Assistants for Marketing Automation - a new two-step assisted workflow for group creation allows marketers to segment and slice their target audience for focused campaign execution; Streamlined Knowledge Management for Customer Service - a new keyword search workflow is built directly into the user interface for case management to increase the speed with which customer service and customer support reps can search for and find relevant content from the knowledge store to respond to a customer service inquiry. In addition, customer service reps can now add content for inclusion in the central knowledge store with one click from information already entered on the case for the response to the customer. In addition to the workflow capabilities for NetSuite CRM+, NetSuite also announced support for Firefox 3, the latest web browser version from the Mozilla Foundation. NetSuite supports all three web browsers- Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari - allowing customers choice when it comes to access to key business data. Kapow Technologies announced the Kapow Mashup Server version 6.4. The new software release features many improvements to further speed up automated access to Web data sources using mashup creation tools or Microsoft Excel. MindTouch announced the release of MindTouch Deki Wiki "Jay Cooke" v8.05, the latest version of its open source enterprise collaboration and integration platform. MindTouch Deki Wiki v8.05 includes finctions for internationalization/localization, search, user management, integrated scripting, automation, mash-ups, user experience and more. Bungee Labs announced federated hosting to expand adoption of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) among enterprises and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers. Organizations developing interactive applications on the Bungee Connect PaaS can now elect to host those applications on self-managed infrastructure running the new Bungee Application Server, or on the multi-tenant Bungee Grid at datacenters in the United States, Europe, and on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). Beginning in June, organizations will be able to self-designate the hosting location for their Bungee-powered applications from within their online Bungee Connect development and management account. Development, testing and deployment of non-production versions of Bungee-powered applications are free. Fees begin only after a deployed Bungee-powered application is used by end users. Bungee-powered applications deployed on the Bungee Connect multi-tenant grid in the United States, European Union and at Amazon EC2 are billed at an aggregate rate of US$0.06 (six U.S. cents) per user-session-hour rounded down to the nearest second per user-session. During the Bungee Connect public beta, there are no fees for these options. Federation pricing for the self-hosted Bungee Application Server starts at a flat monthly subscription license fee of $500 per month, per server.
