Vignette (NASDAQ: VIGN) announced the worldwide availability of QuickSite, a new service offering that simplifies the Vignette Content Management implementation process and enables organizations to launch new Web sites faster. QuickSite delivers a consistent infrastructure, helping marketing departments to launch multiple microsites and branded sites without having to recreate Web pages from scratch. The service deployment includes content management processes, templates and business adoption workshops before the customer is asked to determine additional site requirements. QuickSite also includes support for multilingual Web sites, displays of content information through tag libraries and CSS templates to manage the look and feel of a site with limited help from IT. EPiServer announced the introduction of multiple new features for its content management system, EPiServer CMS 5 R2, including solutions for mobility and the iPhone. EPiServer has worked with two partners, Mobiletech A/S and Mobizoft AB, to provide a mobile experience to the visitors of their site, including mobile rendering, video conversion and payments. iPhone support is available as open source templates enabling the system to be viewed from an iphone. Images can now be prepared directly in EPiServer CMS so that web editors no longer need to work on them in another application before moving onto the web page. New dynamic content features enable external data which appears in many places on the website, such as financial or legal text, to be updated throughout the site. Page Type Converter makes it easier to merge pages of different types, and change other page types. Five standard reports are now available: Non-published pages, published pages, modified pages, expiring/expired pages and an overview of simple addresses. External data such as an archive of articles at a media company can be integrated and displayed in a website using EPiServer CMS. The data will be appear as a native EPiServer CMS page. This enables structured data stored on another document management system to be converted to a webpage in EPiServer and viewed. Ektron announced the availability of Ektron CMS400.NET v7.6, the latest version of Ektron's content management solution. CMS400.NET v7.6 comes equipped with new product features and a new deployment strategy to fit the needs of both the small and medium business (SMB) market segment. Ektron has added new features including new URL Aliasing, advanced whole-site synchronization technology, and a personalization framework. Multi-site capabilities have been enhanced as well. In addition to the new product features, Ektron continues to offer a central interface to manage and support marketing channels as well as flexibility with new deployment options available with version 7.6. Customers can now choose from three deployment options including Standard, Professional, and Enterprise. The interface between the Across Language Server and the ShadoCMS v8.5 Web content management system from Straker is now available for general delivery with native integration, providing an automated process from Web content creation to translation management, publishing and handling of multilingual content. Partnering with Across Systems, Straker integrated Across Language Server technology so that any functionality within Across can now be exposed directly at the Web content authoring level in Shado. The Across Language Server serves as the central platform for all corporate language resources and translation processes, enabling the connection of translation buyers and external language service providers or native-language translators responsible for the creation of multilingual Web pages. It supports re-use of previously translated text segments and controls the entire translation workflow, including the systematic review and release of all translations. With this native integration, the editor or project manager can now access the translation functionality of the Language Server directly from within the CMS. Whenever a new Web page is created or an existing Web page is updated, the CMS automatically forwards the contents to Across. Web Content Management vendor Polopoly and Bambuser have entered into a partnership to provide customers with a fully integrated offering. The cooperation will allow web enterprises full use of the live mobile broadcasting technology within the framework of the publishing system from Polopoly. Sitecore announced Foundry version 2.0 with new functionalities allowing for advanced customization. The latest edition of Foundry, a centrally managed, multi-site solution for creation of individual affiliate websites, adds new personalization settings for individual site users and Foundry Control Center (FCC) tools for greater ease of management at the global administrative level. The Sitecore Foundry solution balances the need for international companies to maintain a global brand and the desire of the company's regional affiliates to localize their websites to suit their particular audience. With the new personalization settings, local site users have the ability to establish and manage their own personal user settings and content, such as local services, schedules, regional events and news items, all within a simple but structured framework. The Foundry Control Center now offers a wizard driven site creation tool. Global administrators can use this guided tool to provision new Foundry sites while controlling an array of site options such as establishing the default content language.
