ISYS Search Software announced the arrival of ISYS:web 9. Through its Intelligent Content Analysis, ISYS notes key characteristics about a content collection, such as metadata patterns and entities, and leverages these facets in the interface to provide a fluid search and discovery process. ISYS' Intelligent Content Analysis manifests itself in the form of several parametric search and refinement options. At index time, ISYS notes aspects like entities in the full text; commonly recurring metadata values in semi-structured and database formats; location of files; dates and numbers; and position of words. These characteristics are then exploited either as a front-end interface for parametric search, or as refinement options within search results. Intelligent Query Expansion is designed to give users greater context and avenues to pursue, and offers suggestions based on your query and the document. ContextCogs are snippets of relevant and contextual information pulled from third-party sources and displayed alongside standard ISYS results. Intelligence Clouds enable rapid navigation of key information. ISYS:web now handles most search requests concurrently with a higher throughput. ISYS now offers both automatic and designable search forms. To expand ISYS:web's tuning capabilities, ISYS now provides administrators with the ability to adjust the weighting on entire collections of documents. ISYS automatically identifies identical documents and either removes them from the results or visually marks them. ISYS:web Federator allows customers to federate their searches across both ISYS and non-ISYS content sources; Exchange Indexing. For responding in a timely manner to discovery requests, ISYS:web enables administrators to centrally create and manage individual indexes for each user's email account. http://www.isys-search.com

ZyLAB Updates ZyIMAGE

ZyLAB announced the release of ZyIMAGE 5.0 Service Pack 7, which adds new features and enhancements to ZyIMAGE Information Access Platform (IAP). ZyIMAGE IAP is a complete XML-based system that provides a foundation for the archiving and long-term management of organizations' critical information assets, including digitized paper documents, electronic files, e-mail and attachments, and multimedia. The IAP's core technology enables users to find, access, and organize specific data through a standard browser. The ZyIMAGE Internet search engine integration module enables users to post and share information available in ZyLAB Archives to Internet Search Engines such as Google and Yahoo. Sitemaps are used to alert Internet search engines about the existence of ZyLAB documents. The ZyIMAGE TIFF production module converts electronic documents into a scanned format (TIFF and XML) for archiving purposes. With Search folders, users can now create a table of contents based on predefined queries, eliminating the need to manually maintain a table of contents. With the new ZyIMAGE Service Monitor, it is possible to monitor multiple index and OCR servers and automatically recover and restart them in a network environment. There is also deeper language support for East European and Catalan added as interface languages. http://www.zylab.com

LTU Technologies Releases New LTU Engine

X1 Technologies, Inc., announced its follow-up enterprise search solution for Microsoft SharePoint 2007. In August of 2008, X1 Technologies announced a strategy to deliver enterprise search solutions to Microsoft SharePoint 2007 customers. The first product was the X1 Content Connector for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 that works with the X1 Enterprise Server to provide for indexing SharePoint data beyond that of Microsoft Search Server. For customers who require a rich, full feature enterprise search solution for Microsoft SharePoint 2007, X1 recommends the server based connector that goes beyond the limitations of the native SharePoint Query. Whether customers choose the Client or Server based Content Connector for Microsoft SharePoint 2007, both allow them to search for any type of content that may reside in SharePoint, email, personal computers, file servers or enterprise applications. http://www.x1.com
