Adobe Systems Incorporated and Day Software Holding AG announced the two companies have entered into a definitive agreement for Adobe to launch a public tender offer to acquire all of the publicly held registered shares of Day Software, for about $240 million. Adobe's acquisition of Day will strengthen the company's enterprise software solutions with Web Content Management (WCM), Digital Asset Management and Social Collaboration offerings. Day's lweb solutions combined with Adobe's existing enterprise portfolio will enable customers to better integrate their global web presence and business applications, unlocking value across their marketing, sales and service processes. CubicleSoft has announced the release of Barebones CMS 1.0. Barebones CMS is an open source content management system (CMS) for web developers operating in a team environment. Barebones CMS features: A caching system that does not get in the way of designing a site; performance page serving (up to 1,700 pages per second during tests); Multilingual support system to allow translators to communicate with the team, and more. This product is designed to create an entire website without ever leaving the web browser: Programmers can write PHP code, designers can create and edit layouts using HTML and CSS, and Content Editors can edit content in the browser. Barebones CMS does not need FTP clients and external text editors. Barebones CMS is an open source product dual-licensed under both the MIT and LGPL licenses and is therefore free for both personal and commercial use.
