Lombardi Announces Immediate Availability of Blueprint Spring 08 Release

Lombardi announced that the Lombardi Blueprint Spring '08 release is live. Blueprint is an 'on-demand' process documentation tool that is used to collaboratively map an organization's business processes, identify problems, and prioritize improvement opportunities. Delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS), the Enterprise 2.0 application allows customers to immediately start discovering and documenting their processes without training and without having to download or install any software. This latest release introduces a set of new diagramming innovations that decrease the time and complexity of building detailed process diagrams. Additionally, Lombardi's Spring '08 release of Blueprint has a new Microsoft Visio importer. Any Visio process drawing can now be imported into a Blueprint Professional Edition account. There are two different types of Blueprint Accounts available: a Free Edition and a Professional Edition.

Intalio Announces Support for BPMN 1.1

Intalio, Inc. announced support for the Business Process Modeling Notation version 1.1 (BPMN 1.1), which was recently ratified by the Object Management Group (OMG). BPMN 1.1 provides several benefits over the previous version, clearing up ambiguities between throwing and catching events, and adding new notation specifications, such as the Signal event. Signal increases efficiency and loose coupling by broadcasting the event to any event listener, either within the process or in another process. Previously, the process designer had to send a separate message or error event for each specific target. Now, that can be taken care of with a single call. Ambiguities with previous versions of BPMN are also cleaned up, thereby reducing the number of errors that could be coded into the process. The latest version of Intalio|Designer can be downloaded from the Intalio Community Website at http://bpms.intalio.com
