Adobe Systems Incorporated announced Adobe Tag Manager for the Adobe Online Marketing Suite, powered by Omniture. This new solution provides a tag management framework for the entire Adobe Online Marketing Suite as well as for other digital marketing technologies. Capturing anonymous audience data is typically done using a tag (a small piece of JavaScript or HTML image call) placed in a piece of content or on a Web page. Various applications for capturing and taking action on analytics data usually require their own tags. The process of implementing and maintaining separate tags on a Web page and across partners such as analytics providers, site and content optimization vendors, ad servers, ad networks, affiliate networks and audience measurement firms often requires significant technical skills to implement or change and can become costly, time consuming and error prone. Adobe Tag Manager solves these industry problems with a tag management framework that serves as a tag container, housing the tags that an Adobe customer may require, including all Online Marketing Suite tags and third-party tags. While some customers may deploy a new standalone tag container, Adobe SiteCatalyst customers can deploy the tag container without having to change their existing SiteCatalyst page tag. The tags within the container are managed through an administrative user interface where the customer can insert or remove tags (from Adobe or other partners) without making changes to a website. http://www.adobe.com/

Arcturus Technologies, Inc. has announced the release of Applicare 6. With Applicare 6, you know 'who' is experiencing a slowdown and you can drilldown to 'why.” Traditionally companies have gathered Nth level data on every single transaction and then manually decided what is good and what is not. This not only wastes computing power, and the job of filtering data can be time consuming. Applicare IntelliSense automatically detects the rogue transactions and keeps the overhead on good transactions almost negligible. IntelliSense normally eliminates the need to monitor every single transaction and provides self detection capabilities with low overhead. In cases where you need to trace every transaction Applicare's BTM can handle the job nicely. http://www.arcturustech.com

Fivesite, the UK Company of website designers, released a new version of its unique content management system (CMS). Named Fivesuite, the CMS simplifies the process of administering and running a website. Fivesite's goal in developing their CMS was to create a product analogous to Microsoft Windows. The majority of computer users are very familiar with Windows, so a product working along the same lines would be easy to learn. Additionally, the company's web designers have also ensured that the CMS complies with all Web 2.0 and 3.0 standards. This helps users add the latest web technologies to their site, and also increases a site's accessibility and aesthetic appeal. Since every business has a unique set of needs and requirements, Fivesuite is personalized to be customized for each client. This means they are no longer limited by options they need but don't have, or vice versa. Similar to programs or applications found in Windows, Fivesuite offers “objects” for various functions. One example is the Free Style Editor Object, which allows users to change and modify pages. The CMS also allows managers to assign varying levels of privileges to users. Authorized users can even change the design and layout of pages, without any HTML or stylesheet scripting. http://www.fivesite.co.uk/

Justin Klein Keane, an independant researcher, has uncovered a potential security vulnerability in the White House website, as well as many other Drupal-based sites. The cross-site scripting (XSS) bug can be found in the Drupal Context module, a widely used plug-in that Whitehouse.gov uses to manage how content is viewed on their site. According to the researcher, the flaw allows attackers to inject malicious scripts into login pages that can reset the site's administrative password. This discovery is important as it comes less than three weeks after the White House released a plug-in of its own which requires use of the vulnerable module. Officials within the Drupal project said the bug can only be exploited by those who already have lower-level administrative privileges to the server. Also, a vulnerable page would then have to be set up to allow the attacker to create "blocks" (Drupal widgets or other content). http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/05/10/drupal_security_bug/

Altova, an XML editing developer, announced the availability of Version 2010 Release 3 (v2010r3) of the Altova MissionKit, an integrated suite of XML, database, and UML tools. Version 2010 Release 3 adds new functionality including integration with Visual Studio 2010, support for working with industry standards iXBRL and National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), support for mapping data based on SAP’s IDoc EDI format, and more. XMLSpy 2010r3 – With the release of v2010r3, the XMLSpy XML editor adds usability enhancements to its graphical schema editor, including the ability to validate internal naming and coding conventions. The XMLSpy graphical schema editor allows schema designers to validate naming and coding conventions outside of the capabilities of the XML Schema standard. This new functionality is of importance for users working with NIEM, a U.S. Government XML-based standard, when implementing their information sharing exchanges. Another new feature in XMLSpy 2010r3 is support for creating user-defined sample values for XML instance generation. Users can now add arbitrary sample data to their XML instance generations allowing them to control the sample data that is published. XMLSpy 2010r3 also integrates with Visual Studio 2010, adding to its existing support for VS 2005 and VS 2008. MapForce 2010r3 – New usability enhancements have been added to MapForce 2010r3 for generating C++ code, as well as working with XML, Excel 2007+, and EDI. Altova’s data mapping tool has upgraded its C++ code generator to MSXML6. Support for MSXML6 should improve the quality of C++ code generated from MapForce mappings, making it less likely to require modifications before it is integrated into other applications or reused for recurrent transformations. MapForce 2010r3 is now also able to generate C++ build configurations for 64-bit applications. For SAP users, the latest release of MapForce provides support for mapping data based on SAP’s IDoc EDI format. Another new feature in v2010r3 is support for the xsi:nil attribute in XML Schema. This enables MapForce to execute mappings where this attribute is used. For users working in Excel 2007+ support has been added for mapping field names. MapForce can now also preserve value formatting in the XML output to ensure that formatting is maintained from source to target. StyleVision 2010r3 – Altova’s visual stylesheet and electronic forms designer now supports iXBRL, or Inline XBRL. Adopted by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), which provides XBRL oversight in the United Kingdom, the iXBRL standard embeds XBRL fragments into a HTML document so that the same source can be used for both human and machine processing. With support for iXBRL, StyleVision 2010r3 can generate iXBRL reports based on XBRL instance files. Users can also select from formatting options to ensure reports are displayed correctly. For both StyleVision and Authentic users, v2010r3 supports the creation of Global Templates for elements. UModel 2010r3 – full-featured UML 2 tool with support for C# 4.0, the latest version of the C# programming language, for both generating code in C# 4.0 projects and reverse engineering C# 4.0 code to create UML models. Altova’s UML tool also adds support for protocol state machine diagrams, with a specialized diagram toolbar. Version 2010r3 includes a sequence diagram option as well as a new diagram autolayout option for displaying modeling elements. DatabaseSpy 2010r3 – In v2010r3, Altova’s multi-database query, design, and compare tool allows users to process binary data in a column of database table that is defined as a binary data type. Users can now upload binary data into the table from an external file, or save binary data from the database to an external file. Data types supported include: BLOB, raw, binary, varbinary, image, and others depending on the database type. DiffDog 2010 – expands its XML-aware capabilities with support for processing child element attributes and child element names. This new feature in Altova’s diff/merge tool can now recognize child elements by attribute, so that files containing duplicate child element names with varying attributes are also recognized as equivalent XML data. http://www.altova.com/

Open Text Corporation, a provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software, announced Rights Management Services (RMS) for the Open Text ECM Suite designed to safeguard confidential and sensitive information from unauthorized uses even after it leaves the content repository. Though the content may be stored in a secure repository, once users have the right to read a document and save it on their local drives, the content becomes vulnerable. Open Text Rights Management Services lets organizations augment their strategies with protection that remains with the content. Rights Management Services works by enforcing content protection constraints for documents and other content based on rules such as "do not email," "do not print" or "do not save locally." The application then encrypts the content and the publishing license together. The content and rights remain encrypted during transport, extending security to wherever the content travels. When a recipient opens rights-protected content, a request goes to a rights management server to validate the user's credentials and usage rights. Round-trip scenarios are also supported allowing editing and uploading of new versions that retain the rights management constraints. As a shared service in the ECM Suite, Rights Management Services are also available to any content application in the organization. Protection spans Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 applications as well as PDF, HTML, engineering drawing file formats, image files, ZIP, archives among others. Users can also read and protect content viewed on BlackBerry smartphones. The Open Text RMS solution takes advantage of the Active Directory Rights Management Service from Microsoft. Open Text is also partnering with both GigaTrust and Liquid Machines, to add support for specialty content types such as computer-aided design (CAD) files, Visio, Adobe PDF, graphic files, and many other file formats, plus rights management support for documents available via BlackBerry devices. Open Text Rights Management Services for the Open Text ECM Suite is available now. Partner offerings are also available now directly through the partners. http://www.opentext.com http://www.gigatrust.com http://www.liquidmachines.com/

Edentity Web Systems Inc. announced the release of the April Iteration of the Agility Content Management System. Each month, a new release of Agility is made available to all users of their software-as-a-service CMS. This release's updates started with the creation of an item count and listing tabs to give more information about forum activity. This way users can see the number of times items have been published or rejected, as well as take care of items that are awaiting review. In addition to this, the ability to send comments with a publish or decline has also been added. These comments can be sent with custom templates to the user who created the record, keeping every user up to date on the status of the posting or update. Moderation improvements include the creation of the roles of Moderator and Senior Moderator, as well as an escalation state and action on UGC records. To keep out those unfriendly swear words from the pages, an Illegal Words list and setting will allow you to block words from some or all user profiles in the system. For those users that consistently cause issues, there is now a flagging option to report abuse and be pulled from the site. You can now designate a UGC field as a ‘Tweet field” and when it is published, the field will be posted to your designated Twitter account. Lastly, developers and users alike will enjoy an improved history tab on every UGC record for change tracking. An additional 93 bug fixes were made according to the Agility CMS blog. http://www.agilitycms.com/
