MadCap Software announced the availability of MadCap Flare 5.0 and MadCap Blaze 2.0, featuring DITA support. Flare is a native XML multi-channel publishing software for print and online content, and MadCap Blaze is a native XML alternative for long print documents. The newest versions of Flare and Blaze support transformation and publishing from the Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) standard-without requiring Java development or third-party toolkits. MadCap Flare 5.0 and Blaze 2.0 join MadCap Lingo 2.0 in providing DITA support, which will be extended across MadCap's family of content authoring and publishing software in 2009. Flare 5.0 and Blaze 2.0 can import DITA maps and associated DITA topic files at the same time and transform and publish the content in other traditional outputs, such as Microsoft XPS and Word, Adobe PDF and FrameMaker, and plain XHTML. Clay Tablet Technologies, a provider of integration software that connects any content management system with any translation system, has announced the immediate availability of Version 2.5 of its core application. Clay Tablet 2.5 includes two important features in this upgrade. InSync Master Asset Management Technology allows translation assets like Translation Memories or Terminology Glossaries to be synchronized across multiple systems, teams or vendors. InSync allows a single system or vendor to be designated the "master" of a particular asset, centralizing control and reducing redundant pre-processing, alignment or updating efforts. With InSync, a single system or vendor becomes the centralized control point, and all other instances get the latest information from that instance. Any changes or updates are sent back to the master instance ensuring the master is always up to date, no matter where it's located. In multi-translation vendor scenarios, clients can designate a "master asset management vendor" which is responsible for managing the master translation assets - such as TM's or Terminology files. The CT2.5 routing rules continue to manage which vendors receive the actual translation work, the "master vendor" only ensures the translation asset files are properly prepared and kept up to date. Clay Tablet V2.5 also includes MultiPoint, Flexible Routing Technology. This allows multiple, sequential step routing of content between systems, allowing powerful content flows like post-editing, between any number or type of systems and vendors. The new features, InSync Master Asset Management Technology and MultiPoint Flexible Routing Technology, are both available in the SaaS and On Site license versions. Pricing for all versions remains unchanged. http://www.Clay-Tablet.com
Content Circles, a provider of distributed content management and collaboration solutions, and Alfresco Software announced a partnership to bring to market a new content management and collaboration solution to serve distributed teams. The new solution, a Connector to integrate Alfresco Enterprise Content Management system and Content Circles distributed team collaboration SaaS, enables distributed teams to securely share, collaborate, track and manage content within and across companies, working online or offline. Content Circles uses a unique hybrid web/peer-to-peer (p2p) approach to make distributed team collaboration across companies seamless, secure and auditable. By automatically encrypting, replicating and synchronizing content across only team members’ computers, Content Circles keeps everyone on the same page while providing confidentiality and security. As a “secure bridge” between Alfresco Enterprise Content Management system and external team members, Content Circles also keeps track of all activity on content originating from Alfresco and provides complete auditability for compliance and regulatory purposes. To securely collaborate on documents in Alfresco with external team members, a user of Alfresco first downloads and subscribes to Content Circles, a simple one-time process that takes a few minutes to complete. The user then creates a ‘Circle’ (workspace) for collaboration and invites others to collaborate in the Circle. The user then simply drags in relevant documents from the Alfresco repository into the Circle to make them instantly accessible to all invitees to the Circle. The content management capabilities of Content Circles then allow the user to track the movement of these documents as well as any edits or changes to these documents. Content Circles also remembers that the documents originated in the Alfresco repository and allows the user to synchronize the changes back to Alfresco with a single click in Content Circles. The Content Circles Connector for Alfresco is expected to ship in June 2009. http://www.contentcircles.com

Nstein Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: EIN) announced the planned release of TME 5, a major upgrade to its Text Mining Engine. New features include "Web 3.0 compliance", a host of linguistic enhancements and a suite of management tools to allow greater flexibility and control of semantic metadata. All of the features are designed to provide the most relevant content to enhance the user experience. Now in its 5th generation, the new release is RESTful, respects W3C standards and includes a number of new linguistic tools aimed at managing the metadata, the lifeline to the Semantic Web. TME 5.0 will provide new taxonomies and ship with tens of thousands of individuals' names, pre-categorized as Politicians, Celebrities and Athletes. TME 5 also supports faceted sentiment analysis, which tells an editor not only if an article is positive or negative, but the tone toward any given subject within the story. Because of the vast amounts of metadata that can now be collected and stored, TME 5 will also offer a suite of five administration modules to manage the different components to generating metadata, namely documents, authority files, taxonomies and ontologies. TME continues to be the core intelligence driver to Nstein's DAM (Digital Asset Management) and WCM (Web Content Management) solutions. TME parses sentences identifying and extracting their grammatical elements, and uses a refined combination of semantic and computational analysis to determine the “aboutness” of any document, calculate a “linguistic DNA” and use that calculation to find other pieces of content that closely match it. The release will be available for customers in the Fall. http://www.nstein.com
