Zoho announced Zoho Share, a central repository that aggregates and lists all business and personal user content published in Zoho Show presentations, Zoho Sheet spreadsheets, and Zoho Writer documents and PDFs. Zoho Writer, Zoho Sheet, and Zoho Show give users several options to share and publish their content, including sharing it with select users, embedding it in a blog or making it public and accessible to anyone online. Published content, however, remains in the individual Zoho applications, with no single point of access to all published content, regardless of type or author. Zoho Share gathers all the Zoho users' content published in the individual Zoho applications and makes it available from a central interface. When Zoho Business moves out of private beta, Zoho Share will serve as the dashboard for all published content within an organization. When users first arrive at Zoho Share they will find the following tabs across the top of the homepage: Content - displays all presentations, documents, spreadsheets, and PDF files published by Zoho users. Each content type can be sorted by criteria that include featured, recent, popular, top rated, and license based; People - shows all Zoho users who have published content. These content authors can be sorted by top contributors, recent users, and all users. Clicking on an author's name reveals all content published by that author; My Area - displays all of the individual user's files, both private and public. Users can also edit their files and publish content that was previously private; Upload - lets users publish desktop files directly to Zoho Share. Users can define the license type for their uploaded content. From the Upload page, users can select from "all rights reserved," "public domain," and six variations of "attribution." Users do not need a Zoho account to view published content on Zoho Share. Publishing content, however, requires a Zoho account as does posting messages and adding comments. http://www.zoho.com, http://www.adventnet.com

XyEnterprise announced the release of ContentaView 3.6, an update to their software solution suite for the intelligent delivery of interactive, textual and multimedia content via CD-ROM or the Web. This new version now features a web-based update server, providing a universal means for updating all digital publications with a simple internet connection. The update server in ContentaView 3.6 makes it easier to push content updates from the server to the desktop and ensures that users are working with the correct version of their publication. It also allows for unattended updates to be performed at pre-determined intervals. Because these new features in ContentaView 3.6 are web-based, they do not require any additional hardware or software. Also included in ContentaView 3.6 is a tracking mechanism that compiles an audit trail of every user who connects to the server and every update that is downloaded. This tracking mechanism provides up-to-date information about all end users along with the publications, versions, and historical information in each client record. Additional capabilities of ContentaView 3.6 include a new generic export tool that allows a user to export the XML into any desired file format, such as RTF, Excel, Word, CSV and plain text, to update files and accommodating users not familiar with XML. The new release of ContentaView features an improved search capability that permits end-users to search for full text or categorical content using phrase searching, search stemming, search excerpts or saved searches. Support for the S1000D process data module in ContentaView 3.6 means users can perform dynamic troubleshooting using the product's built-in logic engine and can create their own data set based on a sample data set, provided by XyEnterprise, which shows the major components of the process data module in action. http://www.xyenterprise.com

X1 Technologies announced its strategy for customers who require a unified enterprise search solution that encompasses Microsoft SharePoint 2007. The strategy consists of two new X1 Content Connectors for Microsoft SharePoint 2007, one server based and one that connects directly to the X1 Professional Client. The first to be generally available is the new X1 Content Connector for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 that works in conjunction with the X1 Enterprise Server to provide a centralized search solution for the enterprise.
