Canto Updates Cumulus

Canto announced a set of updates for its Cumulus product line. First up and available for download now, Cumulus 7.5.4 offers a few minor updates and marks the end of the Cumulus 7.5 update schedule. Following shortly thereafter, Cumulus 7.6 will arrive, offering a wealth of new features and enhancements. Cumulus 7.5.4 is a free update available to all customers now using Cumulus 7.5. Most importantly, the update addresses an issue that affected a small number of customers who take advantage of the Cumulus Backup Manager. In addition, Cumulus 7.5.4 increases the performance of Cumulus Servers running in 64-bit Linux environments, and offers reliability enhancements for customers using central asset locations, or providing previews of Microsoft Office documents. Cumulus 7.6, an update available only to customers on active service contracts, will include all enhancements available in Cumulus 7.5.4, plus offer many new features and benefits requested by customers. Among those new features will be the ability to embed watermarks into images, and generate PDF previews and thumbnails without Adobe Acrobat installed, even via the Canto Web Clients. Additional features and benefits will be announced when the update ships. All customers who use the Cumulus Backup Manager should update to Cumulus 7.5.4 immediately. Customers on active service agreements who do not use the Cumulus Backup Manager can safely wait for Cumulus 7.6, if they prefer. Customers whose service agreements will soon expire (or have already expired) are encouraged to contact Canto or their Canto reseller to renew their policies in time to take advantage of the many new benefits of Cumulus 7.6. http://www.canto.com/portal
