WorkLight Announces WorkBook, a Secured Facebook for the Enterprise

WorkLight Inc. announced its new WorkBook secure Facebook solution for enterprises. WorkBook, an addition to the WorkLight 2.0 software platform currently in use by Global 500 companies, allows employees to interact with their colleagues using the Facebook service, while eliminating the security issues that have concerned organizations looking to leverage social networking. The WorkBook application combines all the capabilities of Facebook with all the controls of a corporate environment, including integration with existing enterprise security services and information sources, allowing companies to harness the capabilities provided by the social networking service and provide their employees with a safe and secure solution for increased productivity and communication. With WorkBook, employees can use Facebook to find and stay in touch with corporate colleagues, provide status updates, publish and receive company-related news and create bookmarks to enterprise application data and securely share these bookmarks with authorized colleagues. Secure provisioning ensures the application can be used only by authorized employees Information security. Enterprise security integration authenticates WorkBook users via corporate authentication facilities and supports Single Sign-On Integration with the company's directory or applications to provide information to Facebook profiles. WorkBook is currently in limited release and is licensed to enterprises as part of the WorkLight server by yearly subscription.
