Reuters Acquires ClearForest

Reuters (LSE: RTR; NASDAQ: RTRSY) has entered into an agreement to acquire all of the outstanding shares of ClearForest Ltd., a privately held provider of Text Analytics solutions, whose tagging platform and analytical products allow clients to derive business information from huge amounts of textual content. ClearForest has received sufficient shareholder approval to complete the transaction, which is expected to close in approximately 30 days, subject to customary closing conditions. The financial terms were not disclosed. Reuters plans to retain and continue to work with the existing management team and their highly skilled workforces in the US and Israel. It also plans to continue to support existing products and customers. Reuters believes that search will be a pivotal element to the future of how financial information is sourced and consumed. As part of its drive into this space, it has created a new strategic group within Reuters and appointed former head of search for AOL, Gerry Campbell, who will oversee the integration of ClearForest and drive this business. http://www.reuters.com, http://www.clearforest.com

Oracle Launches Oracle Universal Content Management 10g Release 3

Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) announced Oracle Universal Content Management 10g Release 3, a new component of Oracle Fusion Middleware. The new software delivers a hot-pluggable ECM platform that helps organizations capture, store, manage, find, publish and retain unstructured content, while fitting into heterogeneous infrastructures. Oracle Universal Content Management allows organizations to consolidate enterprise content and multiple Web sites on a single platform and rapidly deploy synchronized multiple line-of-business applications, such as multilingual Web sites, secure intranets and extranets, compliance processes, call center knowledgebases and brand management solutions. Oracle Universal Content Management 10g Release 3 includes five new features that promote improved enterprise scalability and the ability to leverage existing infrastructures: Microsoft Sharepoint Integration, Flexible Content Storage, Enhanced Portal Integration, Content Conversion from Any Enterprise Application, and Integration with Oracle Secure Enterprise Search. Vignette and Omniture Partner to Offer Customers Vignette's Web Solutions with Omniture SiteCatalyst Web Analytics

Vignette (NASDAQ:VIGN) and Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ:OMTR), a provider of online business optimization software, announced a strategic global partnership that will enable joint customers to measure and analyze the value of their online customer interactions. The partnership includes joint development, sales training and support and provides customers with an analytics solution to support Web initiatives. XyEnterprise's Contenta to Integrate with Idiom WorldServer

XyEnterprise and Idiom Technologies, Inc. Siderean and Inxight Federal Systems Announce Partnership to Deliver Relational Navigation to Federal Government

Siderean Software announced that it has entered a reseller agreement with Inxight Federal Systems. Effective immediately, Siderean will be added to Inxight's GSA-approved price list. Inxight's software structures unstructured data by "reading" text and extracting important entities, such as people, places and organizations. It also extracts facts and events involving these entities, such as travel events, purchase events, and organizational relationships. Siderean's Seamark Navigator then builds on this newly structured data, providing an relational navigational interface that allows users to put multi-source content in context to help improve discovery, access and participation across the information flow. Seamark Navigator uses the Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Web Ontology Language (OWL) standards developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Really Strategies Releases RSuite CMS Version 2.0 with Enhanced Editorial and Production Tools

Really Strategies Inc. announced the release of RSuite CMS 2.0. RSuite an XML content management system built on top of MarkLogic Server, provides XML-aware search along with element-level XML access and versioning. Bluewolf Announces Partnership with Clickability

Adobe to Open Source Flex

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq: ADBE) announced plans to release source code for Adobe Flex as open source. This initiative will let developers worldwide participate in the growth of the framework for building cross-operating system rich Internet applications (RIAs) for the Web and enabling new Apollo applications for the desktop. The open source Flex SDK and documentation will be available under the Mozilla Public License (MPL). Available since June 2006, the free Adobe Flex SDK includes the technologies developers need to build effective Flex applications, including the MXML compiler and the ActionScript 3.0 libraries that make up the Flex framework. This announcement expands on Adobe's contribution of source code for the ActionScript Virtual Machine to the Mozilla Foundation under the Tamarin project, the use of the open source WebKit engine in the “Apollo” project, and the release of the full PDF 1.7 specification for ISO standardization. Using the MPL for open sourcing Flex will allow full and free access to source code. Developers will be able to freely download, extend, and contribute to the source code for the Flex compiler, components and application framework. Adobe also will continue to make the Flex SDK and other Flex products available under their existing commercial licenses, allowing both new and existing partners and customers to choose the license terms that best suit their requirements. Starting this summer with the pre-release versions of the next release of the Flex product line, code named “Moxie,” Adobe will post daily software builds of the Flex SDK on a public download site with a public bug database. SDL to Acquire Tridion

SDL International announced that it has signed an agreement which is subject to, inter alia, Shareholder approval to acquire Tridion. Under the terms of the agreement, SDL will pay $94 million (£47 million), which includes $22m (£11 million) of cash in the Tridion business. The transaction is expected to close in May 2007. SDL’s acquisition of Tridion is intended to strengthen SDL’s position in Global Information Management by adding a WCM solution to the SDL solutions portfolio. SDL helps corporations to drive global brand consistency and accelerate time-to-market by providing software and services to manage the delivery of all corporate information into different languages. Tridion provides WCM solutions that enable corporations to deliver consistent, interactive and highly targeted customer experiences across multiple Web sites and channels. Estonian Content Management and Software Specialists Modera Enter UK Market

Modera, Estonian content management system (CMS) and software specialists are to enter the UK market. The software company European headquarters in the Estonian capital Tallinn is now looking to the UK to expand its operation further into the UK and Northern Ireland. Modera aims to build its global internet software business using its presence in the UK to do this. Day Software Announces New Digital Asset Management Solution

Day Software (SWX:DAYN) (OTC:DYIHY) is releasing a new, standalone digital asset management solution. Part of Communiqué, Day’s enterprise content management suite, Communiqué Digital Asset Management (CQ DAM), will leverage a Java Content Repository (JCR) that is JSR 170-based, the standard for content access. CQ DAM is expected to distribute in mid-2007.
