Trinity Technologies and MetaCarta, Inc. announced a strategic partnership to create an integrated geographically enabled content management solution for utility companies. This technology combines traditional text or keyword search with geographic search so information in a document management (EDM) system can be mapped, categorized, and searched using geographic parameters across EDM repositories. Trinity Technologies specializes in the application and integration of the EMC Software Group Documentum system. Increasingly required to access information about their electric, gas, or water distributed network, utilities are being required to bring together traditional document management and geographic information systems (GIS). Geographically enabled content management systems can positively impact each of these areas, allowing easy access to different heritages of document control, forms, procedures, design drawings, maintenance information, systems, and workflows.
