G: Don’t Let the Recession Threaten Your CM Project
Hosted By: The Content Management Professionals Association (CM Pros)

We are hit with a daily barrage of depressing statistics and financial outlooks. This downturn has hit us all as we struggle to determine how best to proceed in our practice. Many content management practitioners are facing the grim prospect that their budgets may be slashed or cancelled altogether, despite the inherent value content management brings to an organization.

This workshop will focus on strategies to recession-proof your CM project. The session will have representation from end users, analysts, and CM vendors. Three 20-minute presentations from each group will be followed by our expert panel discussion, and completed with several round table open discussions on the topics that are most meaningful to you. Attendees will benefit from:

  • Strategies to secure and protect projects budgets by strengthening ROI calculations,
  • Analysis of what to give priority if the project budget is reduced, and
  • A look at cost savings tips and tactics to stretch your budget further.

H: Time for a New Look at Open Source CMS?
Hosted By: The Content Management Professionals Association (CM Pros)

The open source CMS market is maturing and, with the increase in competition, the competitive landscape is changing. The historical leaders have been supplanted by new names, and there is a new emergence of enterprise support for open source tools. With the current economic state, more corporations are taking a new look at the open source CMS options.

This workshop promises to be an interactive and engaging session, enabling you to pose your questions to our panel of experts in a collaborative environment. The session will have representation from end users, analysts, and the open source vendor community. Three 20-minute presentations from each group will be followed by our expert panel discussion, and completed with several round table open discussions on the topics that are most meaningful to you. Attendees will benefit from:

  • A fresh look at the open source landscape,
  • An understanding of the critical issues surrounding an open source implementation, and
  • Evaluation criteria as to whether or not an open source solution is right for them.

For 2009, Gilbane San Francisco is more focused than ever on the business impact of content solutions that are here right now and ready to be implemented today. Every program component is tied to the business issues surrounding your marketing, technical and enterprise content. We've taken the four major areas of how enterprises use Web and content technologies and organized them into tracks that make it easy for you to customize an agenda that meets your business objectives. Along the way you'll have direct interaction - including valuable one-on-one time - with our unique community of enterprise practitioners, analysts, consultants and solution providers. We hope you'll join us.

Conference Tracks:

Your content is your business. As the lines between content technologies continue to blur, the business implications of your content strategies need to be crystal clear. You need to make your web content part of an integrated platform for customers, partners, and employees. You need to understand which social media outlets fit into your overall content and communication channels. And you have to hold down costs for content management and delivery in ways that don't slow down your company's ability to innovate and grow.
